In the early 1800s, San Luis was a small post in what is now Arizona. It was located on the Gila River and had a population of about 100 people. The Post Office at San Luis was established in 1848. There were only six rifles in the Post Office at that time, and ammunition was not available for them. In order to get ammunition, residents must have gone to Albuquerque or Tucson. In 1876, a group of men from San Luis gathered together some old cannons and made an attempt to start a shooting range near the Post Office. There were no guns available then so they used cannonballs as ammo. Unfortunately, this caused too much noise and attention which drew more people onto the scene than they wanted and soon enough there were several gunfights happening between local settlers and Apache raiders. Ultimately, the town fathers decided it would be better if they just didn't have any firearms anymore and moved away from all those shootouts! However, this wasn’t the end of Ammo history in San Luis! In 1907 a company called Winchester bought out Allyn & Bacon who ran San Luis’ ammo store until 1951. This company manufactured shells for both artillery (for use with cannons) as well as pistols/shotguns/clayshooters etcetera from various calibers including .22 LR (later renamed .223). Winchester also built up a large stock of munitions here which slowly but surely dwindled over time due to competition from other companies such as Remington Arms Incorporated and Savage Arms Corporation who brought new technologies into bear with their corresponding rounds/weapons design changes etcetera which eventually led to Ammo shortages throughout most of America during World War II when demand soared owing to patriotic fervor associated with that particular conflict!

The town of San Luis, Arizona was founded in 1861 by members of the Mormon Battalion. In 1907, San Luis became part of newly created Pima County. This change not only increased the number of residents in San Luis but also gave it more responsibility and power within county government. Over time, however, some residents voiced objections to county policies and felt they were not being treated fairly. As a result, in 1911 a group of local businessmen petitioned then-Governor James G. Marchbanks for secession from Pima County altogether because they felt they were not receiving enough financial support from the government. After much deliberation, Marchbanks granted their request andSan Luis seceded from Pima County on November 20th.,1991
