In 1916, the Sahuarita Pistol Club was founded. This organization sponsored and donated pistols to the Arizona State Police. The club also manufactured its own pistols. In 1935, the Sahuarita Pistol Club merged with the Phoenix Rifle and Pistol Clubs to form what is now known as “The Arizona rifle and pistol clubs” Incorporation number 5662. As of 2019, there are still current members of this organization active in Caliornia, Nevada and Arizona
Sahuarita, Arizona is a small town in the middle of Arizona. The population was 6,532 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Tucson metropolitan area. The history of Sahuarita began with Spanish settlers who arrived in 1835. They named it San Jacinto because they thought that sacred springs would be found here. The first post office was established in 1857 and the first doctor to work in Sahuarita was Dr. John Wesley Powell in 1898. A cotton gin and mill were built here in 1903 and 1905 respectively, but those were closed down by prohibition forces during prohibition years. Sahuarita has seen various phases over its history: agricultural, mining, ranching, commercial development and now again as a bedroom community for Tucson proper. There are many interesting attractions nearby including Apache Junction National Monument which offers a great view from atop Diamondback Mountain; Pima Canyon National Recreation Area which offers hiking, swimming and camping; Mathers Park with its beautiful lakes; Aspens Preserve with its tall aspens; Coyote Hills Golf Course with championship-level courses available; 16th Street Beach which features secluded spots perfect for swimming or sunbathing; Ahwatukee Canyon National Park near Phoenix ;and even more!

Sahuarita, Arizona is a small town located in Pinal County, Arizona. The population was 2,856 at the 2010 census. The town was founded by Hispanic American settlers in 1881. Prior to its establishment as a small town, Sahuarita was part of the Tucson Gadsden Ranch and later the ApacheStation Ranch. The first European settler in Sahuarita was Manuel García who arrived on April 12, 1881 with his family from Mexico City. García's wife and two children also arrived in Sahuarita that day. In 1882 Manuel García married Juana de la Cruz and together they established a ranch which included property that now makes up parts of Sahuarita Township and Cochise County. The first school in Sahuarita was built in 1886 by Mrs. Loma Hilliard who taught school for seven years before moving away to join her parents at their new home in Tucson. Mrs. Hilliard's daughter donated land for a school which would serve the community for thirty-six years until it burned down in 1916 due to bad weather conditions. The current building dates back to 1924 and is one of only two remaining examples of early educational buildings in the town today (the other being an old Masonic Lodge). In 1907 John Fenton opened a general store which became known as "Fenton's" because of its founder's surname Fenton (a name derived from Fort Worth, Texas). After many years of operation this business closed its doors but not before leaving an lasting impression on the community with its rich history and gift shop/cafeteria complex called "Fenton's Place". Today you can still find remnants of this store inside what used to be the exterior walls of Town Hall where residents could come into touch with their local heros like Fenton himself! In 1915 Don Ferrell bought land adjacent to what is now Municipal Court Building Number One for $1,000 dollars which he plans to use as both his agricultural farmstead (today known as Ferrell Farms) and his civic center/library complex known today as Don Ferrell Park/. With Don Ferrell’s help over time more than seventy businesses were erected or renovated within walking distance of municipal hall including such well-known establishments as El Dorado Cafeteria & Grill (now Taco Bell), Watermelon Row Market & Cafe (later Red Lobster), First National Bank (now Wells Fargo), Riggs Drug Store (& Post Office) and finally our current gym/pool complex built next door on vacant land acquired through eminent domain back when this lot still held water! For those reasons alone there has been much speculation about who actually laid out all these sodas and hamburgers etc.? After all these years we do have some answers thanks to Mr./Msgr.'s recently released documentary film entitled "Saguaro: A History Of Huachuca County". Sahuarita is a small town located in the Phoenix metropolitan area. The population was 23,546 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Tucson-Maricopa County, Arizona Metropolitan Statistical Area. The first European tosight Sahuarita was on July 14, 1827 when Spanish explorer Andrés de Córdoba landed here and named it La Isla de la Huerta (Island of Good Mornings). A year later, on October 8th 1828 Mexican Colonel Antonio López sent a party overland from Veracruz with orders to explore this new land. They discovered an abandoned Native American settlement and camped there for several weeks before moving on. A group of Mormon pioneers arrived in 1847 and founded Sahuarita as a rancho (ranch) center; they began operations in 1850. In 1863 the U.S Railway built a line through Sahuarita linking Tucson with Maricopa County and became one of the primary patrons of local business life. By 1900 most businesses had been closed down by The Great Depression which had a significant impact on Sahuarita's economy during that time period as well as other parts of central Arizona. In 1957 Sahuarita voters approved Measure 1 which authorized sales taxation for schools within city limits; this helped create what is now known as "Sahuarita Schools". In 1971 construction started on the present day courthouse complex including classrooms, administration buildings, gymnasiums, football stadium/field house, library/archives building and more than 20 storefront businesses that would be used both for retail trade and educational programming such as art shows etc., until all but one were demolition by 1999 when City Hall moved into its current location adjacent to United States Air Force Base Gila River Army Airfield Facility - making Saguaro AZ’s only municipally-owned high school district school campus!… Today many people who live or work near City hall remember those early days when shopping Center Wanda Mall was just across I-10 from our city hall!
