Queen Creek, Arizona is a small town located in southeastern Arizona. The town was founded in 1912 by miners who were looking for new land to mine. The residents of Queen Creek started trading goods and services with other towns and villages in the area. In 1920, the first college in Queen Creek was established. The town continued to grow until it became a city in 1951. Today, Queen Creek is a thriving community with a rich history that can be enjoyed by all. Queen Creek began as an agricultural village near the river course known as the Gila River Massacre Site where many Apache warriors were killed by U.S. cavalry during the Mexican-American War (1846-1848). About 6 miles east of present day Queen Creek on what is now called Round Mountain Road, Apaches led by Captain John Sutter engaged Ulysses S. Grant’s army at the Battle of Adobe Hills on November 15th 1847 while under covers of darkness following their successful attack against American forces under Lieutenant Colonel Doniphan at Saturday Pass just south of present day Scottsdale AZ 10 miles east of Tucson AZ). Aftermath saw over twenty Apache dead or captured and one hundred wounded including Captain John Sutter himself who lost part of his right arm due to an exploding cartridge that also took out his horse; this event helped spur development around Kingman which grew larger still as Oklahomans realized they could not operate without Apaches helping them fight Indian attacks closer to home so ranchers could continue supplying beef for markets back East…..

Queen Creek was founded on October 15th 1887 by Brigham Young and his party while they were traveling south from St Joseph’s Rancho Santa Fe through Apache Valley towards Tucson. They arrived at what is now Queen Creek after spending two nights roughing it on nearby Gila River battleground where they destroyed severalArizona Native American villages before reaching their destination three days later on October 17th1887.(2) Queens Landing Massacre took place less than 4 miles away from present day Queen creek when David Ransome's company of 6 men were ambushed by Cochise Indians near what is now called Greenacres Resort area northwest corner of Deer Trail road & Old US 66 National Highway . All but Capt Ewing got killed with Capt John Cushing escaped unharmed however 2 young US soldiers Preston Switzer & William Hodge were also captured which angered Osage Chief Pahonta who decided against concluding peace treaty with United States so he attacked David Ransome's forces early morning APRIL 3rd1888.(3) queen creekAZ map

Queen Creek is a town in Apache County, Arizona, United States. The population was 2,611 at the 2010 census. Queen Creek was named for the creek that flows through it. Queen Creek first attracted pioneers in 1878 when James A. McClure and his brother-in-law J.W. Merrill founded the Queen City Mining and Smelting Company near present day Queen Creek Dam on the Coconino River. McClure had been a prospector in California and saw potential in the region for silver mining started by John Sutter two years earlier on the San Juan River in what is now Santa Fe County, New Mexico Territory. In 1879, McClure's investors organized a company to explore and build a reservoir on Queen Creek so as to generate water power for their mine; this company became known as The Quesnel Power Company Limited also known as The Quesnel Mines Limited from 1863 until its dissolution in 1901). In 1886, an agreement was made between The Quesnel Powers Company Limited and an Austrian gold miner, Franz Kesselring (1846-1919), to develop mines at both ends of Queen Creek; Kesselring reserved rights to operate one end of the creek while retaining all other aspects of ownership including production patents. After some initial struggles with environmental issues such as low water levels caused by evaporation during summer months which led to protests by local farmers seeking increased irrigation privileges for their crops, Kesselring's miners eventually developed large open-pit mines with ventilation systems that allowed them to produce over 16 million ounces of gold bullion from 9 claims totaling 640 acres along parts of Iuka Canyon north of present day Phoenix before selling all rights back to The Quesnel Mines Ltdorporated (now Canadian Gold Fields Ltd.) In 1928–29 Kesselring donated land east of Queen Creek toward developing Queens Park – then part of Scottsdale – becoming one of only three donors ever given property in Scottsdale proper outside city limits (the others being Donations Incorporated v Sunsail Ranch Co., 307 Ariz 514 [1927]), creating what is now Mohave National Forest northeast of Phoenix within city limits since 1926. TheQuesnel Mines Ltdorporated produced minerals until it dissolved in 1901 due primarily to World War I economic difficulties associated with changes wrought by new technologies like petroleum exploration followed byWWI munitions production. However smallscale operations continued into 1920s when Anaconda Copper Corporation began producing copper ore from nearby Hatch Mountain despite low water levels; however vein drilling stopped about 1925 because productivity declines resulted from difficult ground conditions typical across many copper deposits after prolonged exposure to air and groundwater. Production recommenced about 1930 due mainly to improved accessesable resources following construction of several dams along Lady Bird Lake adjacent to Queens Park. During World War II Noontime Navigation Company used queenspark reservoirs for navigation purposes; however no significant commodities were produced or shipped southward because hostilities halted shipping around 1942. However development recommenced post-war due largely to resource discoveries nearby such as Navajo Sandstone coal fields
