Queen Creek, Arizona is a town in Pinal County, Arizona, United States. The population was 2,906 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Phoenix metropolitan area. Queen Creek was founded in 1885 by J.W. Haughey and W.S. Farrand as a station on the Central Pacific Railway's Gila River Valley Railroad extension from Prescott to El Mirage. The town was named for Queen Anne's Castle in Scotland which had been abandoned by its original builders and became a national site of interest during World War I when it served as an airfield for American military aircraft; thereafter it reverted to its original name of Queen Creek Station until 1959 when it was renamed again to honor Flagstaff-based Mount queen creek National Monument located within the borough limits of Queen Creek itself; however, both names are still used informally today with majority usage confined to uses specific to Queen Creek and Mount queen creek National Monument properties only). Queen Creek post office opened on July 1, 1886, and remained in operation until February 15, 1963; letter carriers from Prescott delivered mail here until 1957 when all USPS services were transferred to Tucson (the first major change after the discontinuation of passenger service between Prescott and Phoenix). In that year, post office operations were consolidated with those of nearby Oroville so that both towns would have one large post office building which remains extant today (later replacement buildings were destroyed by fire) at 9 South First Street/Route 66 West (just south of Interstate 10 along US 90 Business), currently serving as the sole operational facility for both towns combined since 1957 despite their various renaming efforts over the years including QVC (Queen Creek Town Hall), AZQQC (Queen Creek Annex Building), QQBZ (Queen creek Plaza), etc.; more recently this structure has also been known as "The Post Office" or "Haughey Building". In early 2018 new annexes were added adjacent property north on Route 66 East opposite route 10 split off from main Queenscreektown center - these properties include: The Village complex housing 8 homes/apartments built 2005-2007 located east on Indian School Road across street from old QVC building; an all weather tennis court/multi use gymnasium with outdoor pool & spa features 2 soccer fields - one overlooking Route 66East bound traffic heading towards Apache Junction Regional Airport; a new library annex addition includes: A Starbucks Coffee shop open daily 6am-10pm & WiFi access throughout building providing free wifi refreshments inside+outside while library is open; 3 other small businesses have also opened within this latest annexes including local welding supply store + car detailing business located next door to pizzeria owners (& additional parking) - total annexed acreage now blocks most intersections downtown making shopping difficult if not impossible without specifically requested access via development permit or special event invitation! queenscreektown center contains several shops such as Cabela's department store closed 2009 but reopened as REI outdoors market featuring several restaurants including Native American cuisine restaurant operated by Navajo tribe members who lease land adjoining schoolsite for cooking purposes &AT&T Wireless data rate available 24x7 inside plaza www acardiacom

Queen Creek, Arizona is a small town located in Pinal County, Arizona. It was founded in 1912 by settlers from the turn of the century. The population was 1,611 as of 2010. Queen Creek is known for its natural resources and its many hiking trails that wind through the hills. Queen Creek began as a cattle ranch and mining community. The first people to live here were Joplinites who came overland from Missouri in 1881. They started farming around 1906 and mined silver and other minerals near their friends’ homes on Deer Valley Mesa. In 1912, settlers from Hamlin County founded Queen Creek because they wanted a place to raise their families and prospect for gold near Tucson. The first post office was established at Queen Creek in 1914. By 1921, it had grown to include a lumberyard and several stores. The first school was built in 1916 on land donated by Mrs. John Cramer (later Mrs. Halsey Buffington). The first doctor arrived here in 1923 with the arrival of Drs., George Wolkovich and Harry Blackman from Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania; he named it Queen Creek Hospital after his home village of Queen City, Ontario Canada where he had been born in 1868.). A mill closed down here due to World War II but reopened again when the war ended; this mill produced flour for local grocery stores until 1976 when it closed again due to competition from importsation mills mush larger sizes In 1951, Pinal County created Kenyon Mountain Park which included much of what is now Queen Creek Village including all of the original buildings plus an addition constructed in 1933-1934 which housed the county courthouse until 1984 when it burned down In 1984-1985, queen creek village opened up adjacent to today’s town center with many new businesses including restaurants (theoriginal queen creek cafe still stands), gift shops, art galleries (including one devoted exclusively to Native American art), jewelers/watchmakers/jewelry stores etc.. . . Today's downtown business district contains more than 30 businesses with approximately 4500 residents
