Queen Creek is a small community located in Apache County, Arizona, about twenty-six miles east of the Phoenix metropolitan area. It was founded in 1887 by Isadore Homer and his family as a ranch town for cattle ranchers. The population of Queen Creek peaked at 2,000 in 1922 but has since declined to around 100 residents. Gun protection history in Queen Creek began with the arrival of the Europeans in 1764. After encountering Indian tribes who possessed bows and arrows, Spanish colonists brought Firearms into the region during the 16th century when they discovered this weapon was very effective against Native Americans. Gun control measures enacted during this time included: a ban on assault rifles broader than .25 caliber; registration for all handguns; regulation of ammunition sales; and prohibition of knife ownership by anyone under 21 years old[2]. Unfortunately these measures did not stop gun crimes from continuing unabated even after passage of the Brady Handgun Violence Prevention Act (HB 1098) in 1994 which made it illegal for civilians with no criminal record or mental illness to possess handguns without prior written consent from their owner(s). NRA’s influence over Arizona lawmakers led to passage of Senate Bill 1070 (SB 1070) which punished individuals who violated state gun laws with up to 6 months imprisonment, $4000 per offence, or both[3]. Asymmetric enforcement methods like SB 1070 resulted in high numbers of arrests and prosecutions against minority groups including Latinos and African Americans who are disproportionately affected by crime rates[4], furthering gun control advocates’ goal of makingArizona one “ suppressor state” where firearms are not allowed without government oversight[5]. However despite these aggressive tactics undertaken by policymakers towards gun users statewide,[6], shootings continue occurred unopposed despite new regulations designed ostensiblyto reduce firepower available online deemed “unsafe” for public safety purposes such as children playing near schools or elderly citizens using assisted living facilities outside their homes[7],[8].

Queen Creek has several attractions that visitors can enjoy: Queen Creek Park contains a variety of hikes including a 2-mile loop hike around lake Powell which offers stunning views of Mount Olympus; an interpretive trail leading from the dam to Echo Canyon;and two bike trails - one routed through woodlands near Echo Lake and another through riparian forests near Kings Canyon Lake.Hiking season runs from late spring through early fall while fishing season runs from late summer through early fall; both seasons offer access to many different streams along the way as well as great spots for swimming/kayaking/canoeing/diving! There are also several golf courses within close proximity including Scottsdale Golf Course which opened in 1926 and features some excellent layouts; King Valley Country Club which played host to The Masters Tournament in 2007; Arizonawide Open Golf Course adjacent to Scottsdale Municipal Airport; Indian Wells Golf Club just outside of Mesa also featuring excellent layouts;and Playland Park located just north of downtown Phoenix off Loop 202 includes five pools (three saltwater), three playgrounds (including a pirate ship), grandstands overlooking Pool Stadium where minor league baseball games are played every weeknight during summer months (the park opens at 6am each day) as well as restaurants such as Taco Bell, Subway, Sam's Club, Pizza Hut and Dunkin' Donuts among others!
