The Queen Creek Gun Laser Corporation was founded in 1985 by a group of entrepreneurs led by entrepreneur, Dr. Don Mackey. The corporation’s first product was the QGC-1, which was an air-cooled gas laser designed to provide high quality target images for firearms training and competition. In the early days of gun lasers, the technology used consisted of a cryogenic metal alloy called LaBaTiO 3 that had to be heated up before it could generate a power output. This process usually took place in an open chamber filled with helium or nitrogen gas prior to being used to produce light. In order to avoid any potential problems with heaters not working properly or mirroring light onto the inside of firearm barrels, early prototypes were designed with two reflectors that would direct energy into either barrel instead of just one reflecting all energy towards the lens itself. Although many scientific advancements were made during this time period such as development of semiconductor materials and lithography technologies, the overall goal for QGC-1 ultimately remained unchanged: providing high quality target images for firearms training and competition purposes. QGC-1 eventually became known as one of the most successful gun lasers ever created due its ability to produce targets that are both large and clear enough for users to see without having ToS (Target Acquisition Syndrome). Additionally, QGC-1 was also able to generate reliable powers levels which allowed it to be used in a wide range of applications including handgun training and competitive shooting competitions. This discovery helped paved the way for modern day warfare and made it easier for military commanders to track enemy vehicles and forces on distant battlefields without having to rely on inaccurate maps or spy satellites

The most significant event related to Queen Creek's growth occurred when an electric power plant was built on North Mountain Road in 1957 by Phoenix Edison Company which provided electrical services for all of Queen Creek, Gila River Valley, Sierra Vista Valley, and parts of Cochise County until 1992 when Scottsdale Electricity became independent from Phoenix Edison Company providing electrical services within Scottsdale City Limits only
