The Prescott Valley Shooting Target Holder Club was organized in 1912. The first target holders were built by the club and used for practice at the shooting range located on the corner of Main and Leroy Streets. In 1914, a new range was erected on Elm Street and became known as “The Hill”. From 1916 to 1922, the club operated out of a building on Pecan Street. In 1928, the Prescott Valley Shooting Target Holder Club moved its operations to their present location on Elm Street in Prescott Valley. The original goal of the club was to provide an opportunity for members to shoot targets at a high level of proficiency so that they could improve their skills and carry out competition tasks. Today, there are over 130 shooters who participate in monthly meets held at The Hillrange clubhouse; most meet during rifle season (March-October). Tournaments are also conducted annually which include various divisions including trap, skeet, shotgunning, pistol & airgun events. Since 1912 when the Prescott Valley Shooting Target Holder Club formed, it has been an important part of Prescott history and tradition!

By holding the target at a specific angle, shooters can achieve accurate shots without having to adjust their grip or shoot from different positions. There are many different types of shooting target holders available on the market, and each has its own benefits and drawbacks. The most popular type of Shooting Target Holder is the bow-and-arrow holder. This type of holder features a simple design that makes it easy to hold your target at a specific angle. The drawback to this type of holder is that it requires a lot of practice and time to be able to use them effectively. Another common type of Shooting Target Holder is the shotgun standholder. This type of holder attaches to a Shotguns stock with two screws, making it possible to cock or fire your weapon while you hold your target in place. The downside to this type of holder is that it cannot be used with any other firearms besides shotguns. Finally, there is also the rifle tripod shooter standholder. This type of holder attaches directly onto rifles rifles stocks with four bolts, making it possible to cock or fire your weapon while you hold your target in place. Theadvantagesofthistypeofstandholder include that it can be used with any rifle regardless of its caliber and that it does not require modification to the firearm itself
The Prescott Valley Shooting Target Holder's Association was founded in 1984. The organization is a nonprofit educational institution that promotes shooting sports and target practice in the Prescott Valley area.
Prescott Valley, Arizona is a small town in Pinal County, Arizona, United States. The population was 2,681 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Phoenix metropolitan area. Prescott Valley was founded in 1867 by President Ulysses S. Grant and his wife Lucy Payne Grant as a cattle and sheep ranch. The name "Prescott" originated from the O’odhamIndian word "Paskalwini." The first post office in Prescott Valley was established in 1870. The community's growth began when many farmers moved to Prescott Valley because of its fertile soil and beautiful settings for grazing livestock. By 1907, Prescott Valley had a school, grocery store, hotel and several churches. In 1916, Mrs. Grant donated 4 acres (1 km2) of land to the city of Phoenix for use as an open-air park with athletic fields and a playground for children. Today the park is home to over 20 miles (32 km) of hiking trails including several that lead directly to Camelback Mountain National Park or nearby Mesa Verde National Park
There are many different types and designs of target holders, but the basic design is to use a holdall or pouch to secure a target in place while you shoot. Target holders have been used as ammunition carriers, shooting benches, storage containers and more over the years. The firstTarget Holder was invented by George Fenton in 1892. The Target Holder was a simple device that consisted of two parts: the base and the handle. The handle was attached to the base by means of a loop around one arm and then Covenanted through hole in top of handle. This Device worked very well and allowed shooters to easily place their targets on the holding platform with out having to worry about taking their time getting them into position. In 1909, JW Sinnott developed a new design for Target Holder which featured an enlarged central circle that could either be held in hand or stored within the holder itself (see Figure 1). This variant became known as Sinnott's Circle Holder. This new design allowed shooters to place their targets directly on top of the central circle without having to worry about whether they were leaving any space between them. Additionally, this model included both an adjustable knob located at one end for adjusting height and angle of view, as well as detachable legs for added stability when using it atop furniture or other objects (see Figure 2). By 1938, mostTarget Holders had evolved into what we know today (see Figures 3-5). These devices usually consisted of three main components: an upper frame with four webbed arms connected by flexible cable; a lower frame with two pistol grip handsets; and a center stand/target cradle which supported both your firearm and your target(s) during shooting (see Figures 6-9). Generally speaking, these stands would also include either shoulder straps or Velcro tabs so that they could be easily transported from room to room or set up outside during inclement weather conditions ( see Figure 10 ).
One of the earliest shotgun shooting targets was made with a short, fat, round piece of wood. This type of target was used for practice and to demonstrate how much accuracy one could achieve when using a shotgun. The round piece of wood would be put into a hole in the center of the target and then shot at from close range. When hit, the round piece would cause an accurate release that could be seen by other shooters.
Prescott Valley is a small town in Arizona that dates back to 1887. The community was named for General George A. Prescott, who served as the first U.S. Minister to Russia and helped found the city of Phoenix. The town was founded on the site of an old Payson ranch, which had been abandoned since 1885. There are several interesting stories about how Prescott Valley came to be, including one where pioneer James Winton donated land in order to create a settlement. The name Prescott Valley may have been chosen because it spanned both sides of the Colorado River – east from present-day Phoenix through Flagstaff and down into Prescott County – while other valleys such as Jerome and Williamsburg were known for their wine production. The town experienced some growth during its early years, but it struggled during World War II due to its location near then- msgstrut (Mesa) air force base and the need for fuel for military planes. However, after the war ended, Prescott Valley began experiencing some success with agricultural development thanks to new irrigation systems and local farmers’ markets. Today, the town has a population of around 500 residents and is home to several businesses including a medical clinic, grocery store, library, mosque/mosque complex, post office and two churches (one Baptist). Some notable landmarks in the community include Canaan Peak National Monument which overlooks Prescott Valley proper as well as nearby Mount Graham National Park; also worth noting are three contributing creeks – Cottonwood Creek flows through downtown; Gila River runs along Interstate 10 just south of town; and North Fork Cottonwood Creek empties into Gila River just north of town before joining Rocky Mountains National Park at Scottsdaleprovisional Entrance on Route 66).
Prescott Valley was founded in 1867 by the surveyors of the Arizona Territory. It is named after General George Prescott, who played a key role in creating the territory and leading its Surveyor-General department. The valley is located on the central plateau of Phoenix, between Camelback Mountain to the east and Gila River National Forest to the west.
