Arizona's Paradise Valley is a small town in the Phoenix metropolitan area, located just east of downtown. The population was 7,135 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Phoenix-Mesa-Scottsdale Metropolitan Statistical Area. The community began as a citrus orchard and vineyard colony in the late 1800s, and soon became an agricultural center with processing plants for cattle, wheat, and other crops. In the 1960s, Prima Donna Enterprises bought land in what is now Paradise Valley to establish a shopping mall anchored by Sears and JCPenney. In 1978, Prima Donna also built an arena for the Arizona State University men's basketball team. The shopping mall closed in 2000 after years of struggles; however, it reopened as Village Center Mesa in 2006 thanks to a $155 million renovation that added new stores including Macy's and Sears . Village Center Mesa closed again in 2016 but reopened as Village Plaza on November 1st with new stores from Macy's, Kmart, Sears Holdings Corporation., Best Buy Co., Target Corporation., Marriott International (the first hotel opened there), Bank of America Merrill Lynch (the second hotel opened there), True Value Hardware Store (), and Dick’s Sporting Goods (). On February 12th 2019 village plaza re-opened with updated store fronts including one large glassed-in section called "The Marketplace". It will be home to several restaurants including Pueblo Hills Mexican Grill which moved from Village Plaza 2 years ago when they were acquired by Lucha Libre Restaurants USA Incorporated who operate numerous local restaurants across Arizona based out of Scottsdale

Paradise Valley, Arizona is a small town in Pinal County, AZ. It is located on the eastern edge of the county and extends into an area including parts of Mohave and Maricopa Counties to the south. The population was 8,912 at the 2010 census. The name comes from Paradise Creek which flows through the community. The first people to live here were Arizonans who came overland during the Mexican-American War in 1846. They brought with them their Indian languages and cultures which left behind evidence of their presence in various places within today's Paradise Valley. One such place is a small stream called Apache Creek that runs through town. This creek was also named after General John Arapaho who fought against Mexico in 1847-48 while stationed here along with his son, Chief Joseph Arapaho II of the Apache Tribe. The firstotechnical development in this area began with mining operations conducted by Italian immigrants in the late 1800s when gold ores were discovered near present day Phoenix (then known as Scottsdale). These men mined quartzite – a type of coal – and other minerals near what is now Mesa Boulevard and McClintock Road. By 1912, there were twenty companies operating out of five locations: Mesa Trail Mines, Gold Hills Mines, Antelope Peak Mines, Apache Mine No 2 and Navajo Mountain Mines Company No 1B). Today's Paradise Valley began growing rapidly thanks to agriculture based industries such as ranching, farming and fruit production beginning around 1920 when citrus crops were introduced to this region from California for local consumption only. Over time these businesses have become more diversified creating current industrial sectors including information technology services (information technology parks), real estate development (residential areas like Vista Rancho Estates) as well as retail businesses like Safeway/Albertsons/Chrysler Inc., Wells Fargo & Co., M&Ms etc.. As this industry boomed new areas were developed adjacent to former citrus orchards such as Holden Ranch between Sunrise Highway east of town center and Adobe Canyon northwest of it; Walnut Canyon west of town center; Newhall east off I-10 just north of Prescott; Cottonwood Heights west off I-10 near Jerome Lake; etc.. Today many residents commute into Phoenix or Tucson for work outside service sector jobs within these boundaries making downtown business districts less dense than they once were

The area now known as Paradise Valley was first settled by the Ancestral Puebloans in the late 9th century A.D. The area was ruled by the Chiricahua Apache Chief, Cochise, from 1806-1827. In 1863, during the American Civil War, Union forces discovered and destroyed a mining operation on what is now called Adobe Road. This event led to the displacement of many Native Americans and their retreat into what is now known as Mesa Verde National Park. In 1912, a small parcel of land near Blue Mesa Canyon became part of the United States Department of Agriculture's Manzanar Reservation after being purchased from an Apache Indian tribe. The agency used it for cattle ranching until World War II when it became a military airfield. Afterward, it reverted back to federal ownership and was used for agricultural purposes until 1964 when it was transferred to Arizona State University's Tempe campus as part of a national urban renewal initiative. In 1986, Congress amended Title 36 of the United States Code to make Paradise Valley one of four national parks located in Phoenix metropolitan areas (the others are San Francisco's Golden Gate National Recreation Area and Los Angeles County's Hollywood Hills).
