Of course, this depended on how much rain fell each year - and some years it didn't even happen! When I moved to Paradise Valley in 2000, I had no idea what it was all about. It looked like any other small town in Arizona - wide streets with houses built on top of each other, trucks driving down them as if they owned everything, and people walking around with grocery bags hanging from their arms or carrying water pitchers over their heads (not anymore!). But within minutes of arriving in town you could tell that something special was happening here. The people were friendly and welcoming; everyone knew everyone else's name. There wasn't anything here that wasn't for sale or for rent - there were nearly every type of house imaginable (from single-family homes to duplexes), and all were labeled with prices so you knew exactly what you were getting yourself into (and still do!). I soon became involved in the community through my work as an event planner/coordinator for various local organizations. I met many wonderful folks here who are truly dedicated to making Paradise Valley a place where residents can feel comfortable and connected to one another – regardless of social class or background. And even though we've experienced some tough times recently – including several natural disasters – I believe that our community will continue to thrive thanks to the support we've received from our county government and citizens alike! One thing that's constant throughout these years has been my passion for helping others find peace and joy when faced with difficult challenges. Whether it's hosting workshops on creating positive living habits or offering transportation services duringmudslides/tornadoes – my goal has always been to connect individuals with resources they can use while tryingto solve their own problems! In 1859, Mormon missionaries came to America and began evangelizing the Indian population. In 1865, Brigham Young founded The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church) in Phoenix. By 1870, there were over 1,000 Mormons living in Phoenix. The LDS Church built a church and town on the east side of Central Avenue near West McDowell Road. This community was called Provo City. As Phoenix grew more populous, it became necessary to build roads to connect different parts of the city. One such road was Central Avenue which connected downtown with agricultural areas on the eastern side of central Phoenix. This road also served as a transportation corridor for goods between these two areas
The area that is now known as Paradise Valley was first inhabited by the Hopi tribe. The area was part of the Omelek Nation before it was divided between the Navajo and Apache nations. In 1868, a group of Mormons attempted to establish an outpost in what is now Paradise Valley. They were met with resistance from the local Navajos, who were angry about the outsiders taking their land. The Mormons eventually abandoned their attempt to establish a settlement in what is now Paradise Valley. Instead, they began looking for a new location to build their fortification. They found an ideal spot near present-day Globe City. From this location, they watched as hostile Apache tribes fought against each other for control of the region. Eventually, the Mormons withdrew from the area and founded their own station in Globe City.
