There have been guns in Paradise Valley for over a century. The first gun to be registered in the area was an old muzzleloader, registration number 5555, which was born on October 8th, 1892. From then until the present day, firearms have been a part of the residents’ culture and tradition. The first store in town was the “Wild West” Store on First Street. In 1907, it opened its doors to sell handguns and other shooting supplies. The store closed in 1912 but reopened as the Gunsmiths Arms shop in 1914. It continued to operate as such until it closed again in 1951. In 1924, John Waddell incorporated the community of Paradise Valley into his own entity and began selling firearms called “Gun Magazines” at a price of $2 per issue. These magazines were designed to allow people who didn’t want to carry guns around with them to purchase them from him without having to worry about getting caught with an unloaded weapon. He also sold reloading supplies and ammo from his business premises. In 1933, Pancho Villa attacked several hundred people near Tombstone before being killed by Ulysses S Grant during his later raid on that city; this event is generally considered the beginning of Arizona’s armed conflict with Mexico which lasted for more than 100 years (see History section below). After Villa’s death, gun mag sales declined because many Mexicans began buying rifles instead (gun mags were not legal at that time). However, they resumed fully after World War II when rifle sales plummeted due largely to regulations put in place after Japan bombed Pearl Harbor; however they gradually went out of business once again starting in 1970 due largely to prohibition laws passed by Congress following Columbine High School massacre (see Crime section below). Paradise Valley, Arizona is a small town in the eastern part of Pinal County, Arizona. It is located about 15 miles (24 km) east of Phoenix on Interstate 10 and about 25 miles (40 km) northwest of the town of Glendale on State Route 66. The population was 1,903 at the 2000 census. The community was founded in 1887 by George H. Smith and others who came from Illinois to homestead in what is now Paradise Valley. The name "Paradise" originated from an Apache Indian word meaning "the place where one can find rest." In 1912, Lieutenant General John J. Pershing named it after his airfield there known as Camp Pershing which served as a training ground for American pilots during World War I. In 1923, Paradise Valley was annexed by Glendale and became part of that city's limits. However, because it had no water supply or wastewater treatment plants until the early 1970s, much of paradise valley remained unincorporated territory until that time. In 1974, when Pinal County formed its current borders along State Routes 66 and 825 following the county's merger with Maricopa County, Paradise Valley became part of the new county. As a result of years-long efforts by residents and officials to revive the community economy through various initiatives such as arts festivals and weekend trips to nearby towns like Camelback Mountain Resort & Spa or Scottsdale Fashion Park, hopes are high for increased development over the next few years in paradise valley – including redevelopment of several old abandoned properties into mixed-use developments and an addition to Interstate 10 itself bringing more commercial traffic to the area while creating jobs for locals during peak tourist season

One of these explorers, Diego de la Hoz, traveled through Phoenix on his way to conquer this country. He named a part of Arizona after San Francisco de Asís, the capital of Spain at the time. After years of exploration, de la Hoz's party discovered rich copper mines near present-day Prescott. This led to increased mining activity in the region, which also caused significant violence between Apache Indians and white settlers. In 1858, however, Mexican troops abandoned their plans to take over Arizona and withdrew from the area altogether. This left Prescott as an independent town—a status that it maintain until 1912 when it became part of southern Arizona under United States jurisdiction following the Gadsden Purchase Agreement). During this time period there was also significant growth within Paradise Valley itself—thanks largely to irrigated agriculture (which had been developed by British colonists) and other economic development ventures undertaken by pioneers such as George Wickenbacker (founder of Phoenix Airways) and John Wesley Powell (the first person ever traveling down both sides of The Colorado River). By 1940 there were more than 10 thousand residents living in this area; today it remains one of poverty-stricken but scenic parts of southeastern Arizona known for its unique landscape architecture (such as Doña Ana Mountains), hot springs (including some that are still used today), exquisite Canyonlands National Park (#1 most visited national park in America), wildflowers such asmountain buttercupsand goldenrods.,and numerous small businesses catering to tourists (most notably hotels/motels/restaurants).
