They studied petrified forest remains at Garden City Caverns which lay just outside of town on Utopia Hills Road about southeast of today's downtown Paradise Valley proper on what is now known as Ridgecrest Drive within sight but not reachable by car from then until well after World War II when efforts to access that property started up again following passage of landmark legislation protecting such resources by state governments throughout Arizona including Arizona Territory during that era under Territorial governors George Fife & Hiram Johnson etc.. In 1948 CAFOS (the predecessor organization to today’s BLM) acquired Mesa Verde National Monument adjacent to town east side with its 6 miles long Cueva del Mencho cave system hidden inside its southern flank thus making it finally accessible also for exploration purposes by automobile or bus tour since then even though much higher ground still separates Mesa Verde from town limits

That same year, East Mesa laxly admitted its first student body and quickly grew into one of Prescott's most popularpublic schools - teaching grades 7-12 until 1984 when Middle Schools were added (the current elementary school building was completed in 2002). A new elementary school building - described by its architects as a "modernist" design - replaced an old post office annex in 1984 which served both schools until 2003 whenERSD closed that campus too due to budget cuts statewide; then only second grade students attended those buildings until 2006 when they moved into new Gibson Elementary buildings adjacent to Main Street across from Apache Junction Arena? A large shopping center developments followed: First Sunrise Financial Center (a GSE) before being replaced by Onward Financial Plaza (now Diamond Realty) following deregulation in 1992; then Walmart Supercenter following another recession in 2000 before finally becoming known as "The mall at Paradise valley". Finally, peeling off over time like many other communities throughout America during this period: The businesses themselves left or switched locations while larger anchors such as Sears & Kmart gradually relocated elsewhere within minutes' walk or miles of town center including creating two malls within minutes' drive: One anchored by Macy's/Griggs World Mart inside Pershing Mall just outside downtown Prescott – complemented by Sears Grand Canyon Outlet on I-10 just outside Phoenix – both having been vacated several years earlier during what has become known locally simply as “The Great White Way Retrenchment” . . . Today there are few if any stores remaining within easy walking distance of downtown or even main street although some services still operate out front such as Pharmacy Plus located across from Onward Financial Plaza just down Main Street from Casino Royale Mexican Grill
