Here are five examples: 1) The Battle of San Pedro Sula (1897) was fought between Mexican troops commanded by General Antonio López de Santa Anna and Apache warriors led by Cochise Deer Hunter. At this battle, Santa Anna lost his life while trying to flee from the battlefield after losing control of his force; it is considered one of Mexico's deadliest battles ever fought. 2) The Gold Rush began in 1848 when prospectors discovered gold near present-day Anzalone (now downtown Tucson). This event helped spur exploration throughout what is now Arizona Territory; over time, many small towns were born as a result of this activity. 3) In 1912, President William Howard Taft issued Executive Order 9066 which ordered all Japanese Americans living in California to be relocated intoArizona; as a result, muchdebugging took place at nearby Oro Valley before they were finally sent away en masse on September 3rd, 1942. 4) On November 8th 1941,[2] Japanese Imperial Army soldiers invaded southern California via Yuma County;[3] following their defeat at Chino Hills,[4] they withdrew back into Japan proper but left behind several thousand Axis military personnel who continued operations against US forces until 1945.[5] 5) As part of Operation Crossroads (October 1-November 6th 1943), USAAF bombers attacked Hiroshima – then Japan's capital – using incendiary bombs; although no physical damage was done,[6] these bombings have come be known as one of the worst air raids ever conducted against civilian targets.
