The population peaked at around 100 residents in 1910, but declined steadily over the next few decades. However, by 1920 Oro Valley had approximately 500 residents. The town experienced a resurgence during World War II, thanks to its location within easy reach of Fort Sill onthe US-Mexico border. In 1945, Oro Valley became part of the newly formed Navajo Nation after it was granted federal land east of Phoenix. Over time, many residents have left Oro Valley for larger towns or villages within Mohave County. However, there still remains a large population of Native Americans living in Oro Valley today.

During World War II, the United StatesArmy stationed military units near Oro Valley for training purposes. One such unit was the 9th Infantry Regiment (Airborne), which operated C-47 transports to transport troops and supplies to various locations around Japan during the war. The planes used at least 10 rounds of ammunition per person per day for protection against Japanese aircraft attack! After World War II ended, many residents left Oro Valley for other parts of Arizona or California due to economic reasons or civil strife within Mexico. Some people who remained decided to continue using guns for self-defense until 1968 when Proposition 22 banned handguns across all state lines across America – includingArizona! The town was founded in 1907 by settlers from New Mexico who were looking for land to farm. When they found it, they began to build homes and a post office was started in 1909. The first store opened in 1911 and the first school was built in 1913. By 1920, Oro Valley had a population of around 100 people and four businesses had been established: a grocery store, a barbershop, an auto parts store, and aivery stables. In 1925, Oro Valley became an incorporated municipality with its own government and police department. A fire destroyed most of the town in 1953 but it quickly rebuilt with volunteer help from residents. In 1959, Oro Valley became home to NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL). JPL has played an important role in many aspects of American space history including developing technology used on Apollo 11 and 12 missions as well as designing and launching numerous other satellites. In 2006, JPL announced that it would be moving away from its Main Building on North First Street into new facilities across the street – complete with an amusement park – which will open in 2020. The move will create significant job opportunities for local citizens as well as provide new access to research funding unavailable from inside JPL's walls. In 2017 JPL also announced plans to build two large data centers within walking distance of their Main Building – one for training students at nearby UC Davis School of Engineering; the other for hosting massive amounts of scientific data storage using IBM's software blockchain platform Blue Moon - providing real-time visibility into physical objects made up only of code!
