Today, Nogales is one of the most bisected cities in North America with two major thoroughfares running through it: Sahuarita Avenue (or Via La Plaza) – which connects downtown with eastern neighborhoods such as East Mesa and Southtown – and Cathedral Street (or Calle Nazarene), which separates it from western neighborhoods such as Chihuahua and Rinconada hills northward along Interstate 10
