It was at this point that rifle shooters beganimporting shotguns into Phoenix so they could shoot matches with pistols (Haley). Airguns slowly gained favor among gun owners starting around 1925 when National Shooting Supply Company began selling them (Everett). During World War II many war veterans decided that target shooting might be a better option than infantry combat due to limited ammo availability (Langston). Consequently NRA members subscriptions increased tremendously during this time period which led to moretarget shootings being done across America than ever before! In 1955airguns became legal within Arizona under Proposition 10 state law which made ownership or use of firearms illegal without a license from the police department or through an exemption from registration requirements(Heiserhoff).
