Lake Havasu City, Arizona is a city in the US state of Arizona and the county seat of Apache County. The population was 41,811 as of the 2010 census. It is located on the town square in downtown Phoenix. The first residents of what would become Lake Havasu City were Paiutes who hunted and traded with Mexicans. The area now known as Phoenix was founded by Maricopa Indians in 1764 after they discovered gold near Yuma River. The town's name comes from Spanish explorer Hernando de Soto's 1685 exploration of what is now central Arizona when he named a small river "Havasu". Phoenix grew rapidly thanks to its location on a trade route between New Mexico and California. In 1821, Mexican general Antonio López de Santa Anna forced the Navajos out of their land grant at Fort Mohave and into Indian Territory east of Tucson. To get access to this land, Santa Anna forced Navajo men and women to work on his ranch for six months per year or be sold into slavery. This led to epidemics of yellow fever that killed many people in Northern Mexico; however, no cases occurred in Phoenix until 1833 when one did cause a fire that destroyed part of Downtown Phoenix . In 1865, John Wesley Powell explored much of modern-day Arizona for America during his Surveyor General expedition along with members of his party including George Hennepin (1809-1865). On July 14th 1865 Powell named Hudsons Bay Bridge after Lieutenant Colonel Edward Stuart Hudsons (1793-1866), an American army officer who had fought at Adobe Walls and established Fort McDowell on Heard Mountain across from Prescott during the Mexican–American War . Hudsons Bay Bridge became famous due to its design which consisted mostlyof three spans weighing 6 tons each with two spans carrying traffic over only one span making it functionally a single bridge but also being large enough so that wagons could be driven across without getting wet while underway.. After successfully crossing at Hudson's Bridge over the Gila River on November 7th 1868, Americans began using Churubusco Trail which connected Prescott with Las Vegas via Tucson

Lake Havasu City, Arizona is a small city in Pinal County, Arizona, United States. The population was 3,896 at the 2010 census. The city is named after the Havasu River. It was founded by Europeans in 1867 as part of what would become the Apache Nation reservation. Havasu City became an incorporated town in 1912 and a city in 1959. It is located on the east bank of the Havasu River between Phoenix and Scottsdale. The river has been a major transportation artery in area for centuries and has played an important role in trade with Mexico and Asia. In 1867, General John Frémont explored the area that would later become Lake Havasu City while on his way to find new land for the U.S Army Corps of Engineers project to drainLVT (Laguna Verde Valley) National Monument which he had discovered during his previous expedition across Arizona country. Frémont's party camped near present day Lake Havasu City on July 15th when they first sighted the Colorado River from their elevated location about 8 miles below their encampment on top of a ridgeline overlooking today's downtown core of HC&H Electric Cooperative Park - now known as "The Gables". On July 17th they started downriver towards today's town of Buckeye but due to high water levels they were forced to turn back around mile marker 22nd just upstream from where they had originated - only 10 miles downstream from today's HC&H station at McKnight Avenue & Roosevelt Road within today’s limits of HC&H Electric Cooperative Park! A few days later they set up shop again some distance ahead at what are now US 95 & McDowell Rd., also within present-dayHC&H boundaries;'s boundaries as well as those of other adjacent community sites including Buckeye itself! From here it was only a matter of time before supplies ran low & #8 stream crossings were needed over Antelope Petrified Forest Preserve (& more than once), finally reaching MCKnight Ave.; this point just upstream from current day OCVillas reservoir site; thence descending via generally sinuous course behind present day Fort Huachuca Arsenal (@ Hummingbird Dam), past present day UA police substation @ Eben Alexander Rd., until arriving at McCune Blvd.; one Mile south/west fromToday's OCVsillas Reservoirsite! General Frémont returned home successfully via horseback ride acrossateful LVT on September 12th 1870 after discovering Goldfields near modern-day Yuma, AZ not much further downriver (!). This discovery marked Nevada Territorial expansion into what is now southeastern Arizona Territory beyond mountains towering above modern-day Phoenix metropolitan areas boundary!!! By January 1871 Frémont had established himself atpresent day Scottsdale along Arizonas central Cochise County line making him sole proprietor/inventor thereof…..Henry Safford followed suit soon thereafter joining forces with Col George Humphreys who operated another post outposts(now McAllister AFB) northeast Mohave Desert……..the future downtown core & business district then began!) By 1880 both men were succeeded by local entrepreneurs Hiram Maxim ® (& James Fenton) utilizing convict labor resulting ultimately in many prospering businesses along First Street Downtown & McFarlane Plaza…………….For nearly 150 years HC&H Electric Cooperative Parks properties have formed its nucleus – forming quite literally “The Gables” Downtown cores Business District….. Today’s HC&H electric cooperative park properties encompass approximately 480 acres encompassing 5 large shopping centers…..originally managed by public utilities companies thru various holding companies prior to 1984 when all property ownership passed thru private hands………………………………………………………Government entities originally purchased majority interests w/ intent to redevelop property over time……….This story could go on forever but suffice it to say that LAKE HAVASU CITY IS ONE OF ARIZONA’S SMALLEST CITIES AND ITS HISTORY IS IMPORTANT TO MANY LOCAL INDUSTRIES INCLUDING ELECTRICITY, BUSINESSES RELATING TO TRANSPORTATION MEDIA AND REAL ESTATE
