The first recorded use of a gun laser in Lake Havasu City was on December 10, 1974 when two police officers used them to shoot an intruder who had broken into the home of Chief Deputy Sheriff John Fenton. On July 12, 1978, Lake Havasu City became one of only two cities in America to approve ordinances legalizing handguns with lasers attached to their barrels as self-defense tools. In November 1979, Mayor Don Frye approved an ordinance that would allow citizens to possess firearms with lasers attached at least 20 feet away from any inhabited building or vehicle. In early 1984, Mayor Frye passed an ordinance allowing citizens to Possess Firearms With Laser Attached At Least 20 Feet Away From Any Uninhabited Building Or Vehicle For Use As A Weapon Of Self-Defense

In 1932–1933, work began on building what would become downtown Havasu City—the first purpose-built retail district in Phoenix – with a $25 million gift from oilman Guggenheims son Abe Guggenheim Jr.. The landmark First National Bank building now stands on Main Street adjacent to Central Park – providing an excellent view of Downtown Phoenix skyline while also serving as a meeting place for business leaders and citizens alike since its construction date back to 1933. At its peak before World War II Havasu City had over 100 businesses employing more than 500 people; today only about 60 businesses remain within downtown boundaries with most operations concentrated around 6th Avenue South between Grant Boulevard and University Drive North near Central Park which has served as commercial core of Havasu City since 1925 when it was developed by Arendt Wesselsma who purchased land east of Sixth Avenue south of University Drive north of Grant Boulevard from Rufus Ewing (father-in-law of Prescott businessman David Wesselsma). Today’s layout reflects Arendt Wesselsma’s original vision where Main Street ran east/west bisected by 4 blocks wide avenue called “Avenue A” which divided Business District East from Business District West then additional blocks were added later called “Boulevard B” connecting these two areas while remaining open to traffic allowing easy access to all shopping districts located within 5 blocks including Buchanan Plaza located just south of 3rd Avenue S., Seventh Avenue N., Noble Square situated across Seventh Avenue N., Broadway Plaza located across Seventh Avenue N., Roosevelt Road S., Gilbert Road S., Union Pacific Railroad Depot & Administration Building alsoserving as Headquarters for many small businesses dotting this well planned grid system giving residents easy access to their favorite shopping districts regardless of time or weather conditions!
