A large tree located outside of town became known as "The Nightingale" because during that night local inhabitants could be heard screaming for help from miles away! In 1970, Mayor Don White appointed George Wiegand as City Manager and within two years saw significant progress being made including the establishment of a water system and re-opening of city halls which had been closed for many years! In 2001 Mayor Tom Townsend appointed Dr. Drew Kline as Town Manager which resulted in increased funding for projects such as asphalt resurfacing and new streetlights! In 2006 Mayor Townsend announced he would not run for reelection due to health concerns but left open the possibility future mayoral appointments may lead to even more progress! Kingman is home to multiple businesses that contribute significantly to its economy including: ABC Clothing & Shoes store (founded 1922), Girdershine Tire Co., Inc.(1948), First National Bank (established 1907), Southern Arizona Credit Union (established 1959) and United States Post Office (established 1912). These five businesses are some of only a few hundred remaining throughout Phoenix metropolitan area; all other major employers have either relocated or closed since 2000! Additionally there are several churches and religious institutions located within easy walking distance or driving range from downtown – these include Our Lady Of Mount Carmel Chapel( founded 1916), St John’s Episcopal Church(founded 1913) and Holy Cross Catholic Church( founded 1911). Some notable landmarks also close by include Foothills Golf Course(opened 1921), Mesa Lake Park(opened 1902) and Camelback Mountains National Monument#1 (opened 1964). Although difficult to socioeconomic assessment without data specific thereto it can be assumed that most jobs lost during this time were blue collar or service-sector related ones however with recent investments into technology such as online ordering capabilities many small business owners are now able to stay competitive online/in-person!

In 1910, Kingman incorporated as a municipality under the name of Phoenix Township, Incorporated Territory No 573B which at that time included all of current Pinal County except for the city of Glendale which had been annexed by Phoenix two years earlier. In 1916, Tucson annexation made Kingman an even more integral part of Phoenix with its own police department and fire department separate from those within Phoenix Township Incorporated Territory No 573B In 1936, during World War II, Chandler Coal Company mined coal near what is now known as Northgate Road in Kingman Canyon National Monument After World War II ended, many businesses closed down due to high school students’ demand for jobs during peacetime while everyone else busied themselves with re-construction following war-time destruction However, many businesses soon reopened once again due to increased population growth related to new housing developments such as Camelback Ranch across South Mountain Drive from the old Southern Pacific Railroad Depot on Courthouse Drive southward
The town of Kingman, Arizona was founded in 1886 by David Kingman. The post office at the time was known as "Kingman". The town grew rapidly until it had a population of around 2,000 people. It then declined and eventually merged with nearby Pima County.
