NRMRC partners with universities to create programs that provide hands-on research opportunities for students from all over the United States. Kingman also has a post office and two churches. The first settlers in what is now Kingman arrived in 1868 when they founded a trading post on Navajo land east of Tucson. It was here that Indian Agent J.F. Munter certified Kingman's land grant to John Cooke and his wife Anna Maria Cooke on November 12, 1870. The name "Kingman" was derived from Spanish Villa de la Cruz, which means "House by the River." In 1876, Captain Wm Haines donated horses and mules to support local farmers during an agricultural drought; this donation became known as "Haines' Famine." In 1912, Mayor Acheson Dickson proposed building a municipal building on Main Street because he felt it would be important for future growth in Kingman. On February 1, 1913, voters approved a $5 per capita tax for school purposes withoutProvidence School District involvement; this vote marked the first time anyone had ever voted to provide public services without being directly involved with them through property taxation or referenda! The city hall was built from scratch using funds donated by businessmen Leland Stanford Sr., Harry Chandler and others associated with downtown Tucson development plans following World War I; however despite its grandeur it did not become operational until 1949! In 1922–1923 architect Clarence Sennett designed an addition to City Hall which included a large Italianate style dining room/entertainment hall named after his mentor – Governor Hiram Johnson – which served as both city hall annexe and civic center until its demolition in 2003! In 1928–1929 Mayor John Meeks replaced Sennett's original design with his own more modern architectural concept entitled 'Pioneering Modernism.' This plan called for increased regulation of business activity within limits set by State Board Regulations adopted during President Franklin D Roosevelt's New Deal era; incidentally this plan led to revocation of mayoralty titles by some members of the Board! During World War II most business activity took place out of City Hall due to restrictions placed upon residential districts adjacent thereto; however many businesses later reopened inside City Hall following rehabilitation projects funded by private donations . From 1951 until 1984 City Hall functioned as an auxiliary jail ! Today much like those earlier days before it became inadequate due to changing needs or budget constraints City Hall functions largely as an historical landmark open unto visitors providing limited programming!

Kingman, Arizona is a small town in the Phoenix metropolitan area. It was founded in 1907 by Luther King and his wife Anna. The town was named for Kingman's older brother, John W. Kingman. The community has since grown to include over 11,000 residents and continues to grow in size due to its location within thePhoenix-Mesa-Scottsdale Combined Statistical Area. Kingman is located on the eastern edge of the Prescott Valley, just east of Interstate 10 and north of US Route 64. The valley forms part of the greater Phoenix metropolitan area and sits at an elevation of 4500 feet (1350 meters). The first settlers in Kingman were Luther King's father, John W. Kingman Sr., and his mother Anna Lee Kingsbury. In 1907, after they moved from Chicago, Illinois to Prescott Valley, they set up a farmstead on what is now called Old Road 6 south of present day Kingman." In 1914 Luther King married Japanese American Edna Eastin Ando who was also from Prescott Valley. They had two children: Barack Obama Jr., born in 1946 and Dorothy Dunham born in 1948. In 1922 the United States Post Office opened at Kingsbury Avenue and Main Street with mail service coming exclusively from Phoenix via horseback riders; this ended when railroad services arrived in 1926 Amtrak began operations between Phoenix/Mesa/Scottsdale Airport (now Sky Harbor International Airport)and Tucson through Maricopa Junction. Queen City Coal Company opened its mines nearby which produced coal until 1976 when it closed down due to low coal prices. From 1902 until 1912 there was no water available for drinking or irrigation but post office officials soon discovered that underground water lay beneath their property; this led to construction of several wells during that time In 1917 Homer Gentry established a feedlot near present day Kaiser Hospital; he continued operations until his death in 1952.
