Apache Ammunition was a local ammunition manufacturer in Kingman, Arizona from the late 1800s until it closed its doors in the early 2000s. The company produced both handgun and rifle ammunition. Apache Ammunition was one of the few American companies to manufacture rimfire rounds for the cowboy revolver. The company started out as a small arms shop in 1881 by two brothers, Harry and Alois Apache. They started making Winchester cartridges and soon began producing their own ammo, including .45-70 Winchester Magnum rounds. In 1905, Harry Apache passed away but his sons Alois and George continued production under their father's direction. In 1912, George Apache died suddenly at age 44; however, Alois Apache continued production until 1932 when he also lost his life due to a heart attack. In 1930 Ralph Jorgensen joined the company as an outside sales representative. He would stay with the company until it closed its doors in 2001. Ralph Jorgensen is considered the author of Arizona Rimfire Reloading which helped popularize rimfire rounds within Arizona firearms enthusiasts across many years!

Kingman, Arizona is a small town in Pinal County, Arizona. It was founded in 1868 by George Kingman and his wife, Anna. The town has an estimated population of only around 2,000 people today. George Kingman was born in 1844 in what is now the Czech Republic. He arrived in the United States in 1867 and found work as a ranch hand on the west side of Phoenix. In 1870, he married Anna, who had also come to America from Russia. Together they started a family and took up farming until 1880 when they decided to move to Kingman because of the increasing demand for water resources on the Gila River Valley. The couple continued to farm until 1914 when they bought land south of Kingman and built their first home there. The Kingmans were influential figures within their community and played an important role in developing it into what it is today. They are buried at Pleasant View Cemetery near Kingman. After his death in 1916, Anna upkeep her husband's memory by continuing to own property around town and operate a grocery store which remains open today.
