Goodyear, Arizona is home to the oldest handgun factory in the US, Goodyear Firearms & Tool Company. The company was founded by George Goodyear in 1892 and produced firearms until 1898. In that year, Goodyear merged with Adolphus Anschutz’s American armament company to form Anschutz-Goodyear Corporation. At this point, goodyears were produced under a variety of brand names including Standard Arms and Colt Firearms. After World War II, Goodyear became a subsidiary of Remington Arms Company. Grip inserts are designed for people who have large hands or those who wear gloves often (such as doctors or scientists). They usually come in two parts: an upper part that goes over your handguard and down into your palm; and a lower part that fits over your index finger and little finger (the ring fingers if you wear rings). Grip inserts help reduce recoil by reducing movement around your hand while shooting, which makes aiming more accurate. They can also protect againstaste strikes because they’re not directly attached to any firearms slide railings like Safeties do.
