Typically these bearings use five roundhubcaps instead of nuts/bolts allowing them greater precision and longevity when used with certain types of optics platforms such as reticles made from hard plastic or metal coated glass elements. Additionally, mil-STD 1913 bearings tend not TOO tight against the Barrel Nut so that it becomes difficult or even impossible remove them should there be any movement within the mount during use which could lead to crooked alignment or poor performance overall; this is why most high end telescopes utilize MIL-SPEC 5 Round Hubcaps on their Picatinny Mounts!
