Shortly after its establishment, The Gun Makers Company became part of Sturm Ruger & Co., Inc. In 1957, Sturm Ruger & Co., Incorporated merged with Colt Firearms Corporation to form Colt Foods Holdings LLC. At this point, Colt Foods Holdings LLC became Colt Firearms USA Incorporated. In 1968, Colt Firearms USA Incorporated merged with National Arms Corporation to form American Armory Corporation (AAC). AAC ultimately went out of business in 1990 due to financial issues within its organization. Fountain Hills is a city in Pinal County, Arizona, United States. The population was 20,872 at the 2010 census. It is the seat of Pinal County. The first Europeans to visit Fountain Hills were members of the US Cavalry Regiment who camped on the east side of town in 1868 while on their way south from Prescott. On October 1, 1869, Fountain Hills was named after John Fenton Fountain, an American politician and landowner who had been governor of Arizona Territory from 1863 to 1865 and state senator from 1861 to 1865. Fountain Hills began as a small farming community with about 100 residents in 1920 when Harry Blackman opened his first grocery store there and named it Blackman's Herald Grocery & Dairy Store. In 1957, Harry Blackman donated land for what would be known as Camelback Ranch which became home to The University of Phoenix campus (later renamed Arizona State University). Today parts of nearby Apache Junction are also part of Phoenix' airport district.

In 1907, Anson Gorman opened Gorman's grocery store on East Main Street which became one of Arizona's largest grocery stores for many years. In 1915 Clyde Hodge established Hodge & Sons Hardware Store on North Main Street which became one of Phoenix's most popular hardware stores for many years before it closed in 1984. In 1927 John Wesley Hardin erected a log cabin as part of his family's rancho near present-day Apache Road/Route 66 north of town center (just east of Interstate 10). Hardin was an early settler who developed water rights along Apache Creek for irrigation purposes and later built a homestead on what would become known asHardin Rancho Park across from Apache Lake today (the area now home to Surprise Lakeside Resort). Many famous people have been associated with this location including Waddell Coleman, Clyde Hodge, John Wesley Hardin and others. After World War II hard times hit Fountain Hills with an influx of wartime veterans who were not welcomed by local residents; some relocated out-of-town while others left altogether after difficult living conditions were met during their stay hereabouts . On July 1, 1951 when Pima County formed following Navajo Indian land claims within Pima Indian Territory under Ulysses S Grant administration, Fountain Hills came fully under county jurisdiction; however because there had never been any organized community here prior to that time there was no formal name given to the nascent municipal entity other than simply "town". In 1957 the post office moved from its original location just south off Route 66 into what would become what is now called fountain valley plaza downtown where it continues to serve customers to this day . On December 3rd 1959 when creek flooding damage caused by heavy rains forced closure of parts or all central avenue through town due to unsafe conditions several businesses boycotted stocking food items consequent a boycott by over 2 thousand citizens resultant an economic crash that affected nearly every aspect of life within town; however soon after merchants returned back into business followed by new businesses opening up throughout downtown setting off another period or renaissance dubbed "Fountain Valley Renaissance" ensuing until present day...
