They arrived with their four children: Annie Cook (1888), John Cook (1889), Alice Cook (1890), Raymond Cook (1892). Their youngest child Anna married Wilbur Grier who also came from Nacoochee Creek Settlement. The first store opened in 1912 under license from USGS Deputy Superintendent George Birdman This store stood until 1951 when it burned down due to weather conditions after being damaged by fire during a lightning strike
