The college became central to Flagstaff's educational community and continues to serve as an important part of our economy today. On November 16th, 2009 it was announced that Flagstaff Community College would merge withaze Northern Arizona University effective February 1st 2010 making this one school with two campuses - one located on North Scottsdale Road inside Mesa Verde Campus while another will open adjacent to Southern Arizona University campus on East Greenway Avenue just east of I-10 between Indian School Road and Alma Mater Drive
