There is a rich history of gun targets in Eloy, Arizona. The first target was located on the east side of town in 1885. There were several other target ranges located in and around Eloy before World War I. After the war, there were several more range locations until 1942 when the last known location was on the west side of town.
Eloy is a small town in Pinal County, Arizona. It is located on the banks of the Eloy River and has a population of about 2,000. The town was named after Mexican General Don Felipe Eloy who fought in the Mexican-American War. According to the 2010 census, Eloy has a total area of 0.8 square miles (2 km²), all of it land. The first settlers in what is now ElOY were Mexicans who had come to Arizona from Mexico City in 1847 during the Gadsden Purchase. They built their homes near where the river flows into Apache Creek. The creek was used as a water source for early settlers and later became known as “the Elk’s Grave” because so many cattle died there from disease or accidents while running off the range into surrounding towns. The town site was selected for its location on an arm of the Colorado River which made it easy for traders to market their goods to buyers along the Lower Colorado River Valley and also provided access to irrigation waters that helped make agriculture possible in this region. By 1860, when Tucson was founded, most people living around ElOY were Anglo-Saxon Americans who had arrived during territorial days whenMexicanos were only allowed to live within certain limits outside Tucson proper

Eloy is a city in Arizona, located on the Eloy River. The population was 10,887 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat of Apache County and part of the Phoenix metropolitan area. According to the US Census Bureau, Eloy has a total area of 26 square miles (75 km²), of which 24 square miles (71 km²) is land and 2 square miles (3 km²) (1%) is water. The city was platted in 1887 by John Wesley Powell and named for him after his visit to that region in 1885. In 1912, it became part of Coeur d'Alene City Limits. By 1968, it had annexed portions of Mesa County and become its own municipality again. The population increased rapidly due to immigration from Mexico during the late 1800s; as Mexican immigrants began arriving in large numbers in what was then rural Apache County, they built new housing developments around town. These developments included many high-rise apartment buildings that remain extant today including Eloy Towers and Park Place Apartments complex near downtown Eloy. In 1957, voters passed an act annexing Mesa County to Eloy as well as creating a new police department and fire brigade; both were based out of town until 1987 when they were moved back into town under licence from Mesa County government – this also happened before incorporation as an incorporated city with its own municipal court system took place on February 14th 1969 by vote of all residents registered with city hall just over two weeks later Official incorporation occurred on March 3rd 1969 During prohibition era many jobs were available within 100 yards radius where truck drivers unloaded beer at local breweries
