Eloy is a small, but growing community in Yuma County, Arizona, United States. It is home to the Eloy Rifle and Pistol Club and many other gun-related organizations. The first organized firearms group in Eloy was the Western Gun Club of Eloy which met on March 1, 1892. In 1907, the Eloy Rifle and Pistol Club was formed and soon became one of the most active groups in town. The club continued to meet regularly until 1959 when it disbanded due to lack of membership. In 1959, the Western Gun Club of Phoenix revived Eloy's rifle and pistol clubs as a statewide affiliate with NRA headquarters in Indianapolis Indiana After being dormant for over 50 years (1959-present), NRA launched its National Firearms Museum Program at their facility in Littleton Colorado on April 14th 1997 which re-opened the doors of what had been an abandoned armory that served as their museum from 1957-1997 The Eloys were able to once again join hands with other firearm enthusiasts from all over America in hosting this annual event that celebrates heritage firearms across all levels of ownership/activity
Eloy is a city in Pinal County, Arizona, United States. The population was 5,812 at the 2010 census. The Eloy Municipal Airport serves the city. Founded in 1907 by white settlers, Eloy quickly became an agricultural center with citrus and livestock production being its mainstay. After World War II, General Motors built a large car plant and other businesses followed; but by the late 1990s industry had withered away and Eloy's population barely reached 1,000 by 2000. However, since then new arrivals have helped revive the downtown core as well as revive some of the old businesses that once thrived hereabouts. Today Eloy is one of Pinal County's most vibrant cities – home to many art galleries and boutiques, high-intensity economic activity due to several hundred thousand jobs in health care and government sectors (including several major employers), lively nightlife scenes including two bars/restaurants/nightclubs on Market Street and active involvement in civic life through participation in numerous organizations from three levels up: school board members are elected every two years via popular vote to represent all residents within their jurisdiction; City Councilmembers preside over various affairs such as zoning ordinances; while Area A commissioners manage services for unincorporated areas adjacent thereto which encompass about . Population growth has not been significant enough to warrant annexation from neighboring townships since 1999 so annexation remains undecided; nonetheless development potential exists for additional retail space or office buildings on busy Main Street near Interstate 10 should it prove feasible The first permanent settler arrived at what would become Eloy on December 24th 1907 when Wm E Jones daughter of James M Jones came out with her husband John Laughlin from Independence Township east of Phoenix along Route 66 en route to Prescott. Mrs Jones' brother-in-law George Hirschfeld also accompanied them including his family who also settled down there soon after before moving on back eastward into Apache Valley where he farmed until his death in 1916 aged 72 years old. One year later postman Hiram Coleman brought mail into town from Maricopa County daily via horse drawn wagons which continued until 1938 when electric service began across town giving residents access everywhere without having to leave their homes! From this point forward mail was delivered daily except during Indian Wars days when it would be sent twice a day instead! In 1946 general store owner Fenton Jorgensen opened up his business next door (later renamed Gomer Farms) selling groceries mostly eggs, milk and bread while supplies were brought in hourly from Phoenix bringing much needed prosperity & stability during difficult times for small towns throughout America during that time period Eloy's economy changed dramatically almost overnight when I-10 was opening up further west making trucking & delivery possible for everyone rather than going through Tucson (& extra costs)

Eloy is a town in Pima County, Arizona, United States. The population was 1,846 at the 2000 census. It lies on the eastern edge of Eloy National Monument. The town and monument were established in 1933. The first European to visit what is now Eloy was Father Francisco de Anza who sighted it from his ship on July 16, 1598 while sailing along the Colorado River. Anza named it after Don Fernando de Enciso y Ulloa y Calderón, viceroy of Peru from 1763 until his death in 1774. After years of Spanish occupation and land speculation by American farmers, Mexican settlers and Anglo-Americans began arriving in earnest in the late 1800s; by 1920 there were more than 4,000 people living here. In 1903 a small irrigation works was built near present-day White Sands Lake to provide water for cattle ranchers grazing on rancho Ajo Negro east of town. In 1926 a large dam was constructed across Clear Creek to improve irrigation systems for surrounding farms and towns as part of the US Government's Bureau of Reclamation projects authorized under President Coolidge's New Deal agenda; this created White Sands Lake which still provides drinking water today for much of Eloy and some adjacent communities including Highland Park and San Carlos City (now South Hills). A post office called Enciso had been established at this site in 1887 but failed to take off due to lack of interest from locals; its name was changed to Eloy on November 12, 1907 after Pershing Field Air Force Base became operational nearby; during World War II the community served as an airfield training center with more than 100 pilots earning their wings here between 1942-1945 inclusive Kirtland AFB AZ before returning home. In 1933 ElOY Municipal Airport opened just west of downtown with several commercial jetliners base landing/takeoff operations during that time span including Republic Airlines (1948), Western Airways (1958), Delta Air Lines (1963) Northwest Airlink (1970) Mesa Airlines (1984) among others although most passenger service ended within a few years following deregulation & privatization etc.. Aircraft operations currently include two general aviation airports: Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport & Tucson International Airport serving over 20 airlines serviced daily with all types of aircraft both big&small!
