Eloy, Arizona is home to a number of gun magazines that have been in operation for many years. The first magazine in Eloy was the Eloy Rifle and Pistol Club, which opened its doors on July 1, 1917. At the time, it was the only gun club in town. The club continued to operate until 1945. The next year saw the opening of the Eloy Gun Shop. This store was designed to provide customers with all they need to purchase firearms including ammunition, guns and accessories. It operated until 1951. In 1953, the Eloy Rifle and Pistol Club reopened as a nonprofit organization under the name of The Eloy Rifle and Pistol Club Foundation Incorporated. It continued to operate until 1984 when it merged with another lodge, The Eastern Arizona Rifle and Pistol Association (EAROPA), which had been operating since 1950. EAROPA operated until 1990 when it closed its doors due to financial difficulties. The last surviving member of The Eloy Rifle and Pistol Club Foundation Incorporated was Don White who served as President from 1984-1990. Prior to his presidency, White served as Vice President from 1977-1984; Treasurer from 1973-1977; Secretary from 1971-1973; Assistant Director from 1966-1967; Instructor at Northern Arizona Community College (NACCC)from 1963-1966; Scoutmaster in 1961-1963; NACCC Master Instructor from 1959-1961; instructor at Northern Arizona University (NAU)from 1957-1959and instructor at Southern Oregon Community College (SOCC)in 1955-. All told, there were nine presidents or associate directors for The ElOY Rifle & Pistol Club Foundation Incorporated during its history - Don White being the last one before its closure in 1990.

The name Eloy comes from the Apache word "yeloya," meaning "place where there are cedar trees." The first Europeans to visit this area were those working for Spanish missionaries in 1821-22 who named it San Francisco de las Palmas. In 1864, when Mexico became an American republic, Eloy was incorporated as a town within Pima County and renamed after General Antonio Lopez Eloy, who had died while fighting Mexican forces near Tucson on September 13th that year. Eloy's economy mainly revolves around agriculture which includes crops such as wheat, corn and cotton; ranching; and mining including coal and gold deposits. Manufacturing contributions include fabricated metal products and agricultural equipment used by farmers or ranchers across the state; general merchandise items such as clothing and household supplies; building materials such as cement, plywood and lumber; tourism activities including bed & breakfast lodging, golf courses (including one located inEPark), horseback riding tours/rentals/foods etc.; as well as pottery production from recycled Clayton pottery found throughout central Pima County which is also exported to other states. One of the most notable things about Eloy is its community center which opened in 1984. This facility has been host to numerous events including school dances, weddings and special occasions such as Memorial Day services. A new library branch alsoopened in 2006 just south of town on Interstate 10 near University Avenue which served the community until 2009 when Phoenix Public Library took over operations. There are currently plans to build a second library branch in downtownEloy should private funding be available through 2020

Eloy is an unincorporated community in Coconino County, Arizona, United States. It lies east of the Grand Canyon National Park on U.S. Route 66 and is administered by the Eloy Gap Recreation Area Authority. The community was founded in 1912 by white settlers, who postulated that a better place for their families to live would be located on the eastern edge of the cliffs. A post office was established at Eloy in 1912, and remained in operation until it closed in 1980. At one time, there were over 1,000 residents of Eloy; however, this number has decreased since the 1990s due to development within thecommunity and competition from other nearby communities. The population of Eloy currently stands at about 100 people
On July 14, 1912, Eloy was founded as the first town in what is now the Navajo Nation. The name of the town comes from Apache Chief Manuel de la Garza's proclamation that "the land is ours" and it means "place of peace." In 1924, Eloy became a census-designated place.
