El Mirage is a city in El Paso County, Arizona. The population was 7,876 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Phoenix metropolitan area and has a sister city relationship with Yogyakarta, Indonesia. The name "El Mirage" is Apache for "the Mirage". A post office called El Mirage was established in 1907 and remained in operation until it was discontinued in 1960. The first residents of what would become El Mirage were prospectors who discovered gold deposits near present-day Mesa Verde on April 12, 1881. The town was founded by pioneer George Hildebrandt in 1888 as a small settlement on the edge of what would be eventually named Scottsdale. Hildebrandt's brother-in-law, Fenton Woodbury, donated land to establish the town site which included a schoolhouse and storehouse. In 1892, when Scottsdale became an incorporated municipality, El Mirage decided to annex its neighbor to become one of its own civic entities. In 1902, whenScottsdale annexed Gilbert Heights to form a new municipality (and renamed itself Scottsdale), El Mirage followed suit and reincorporated as Gilbert Heights Township too. On December 17th 1909on behalf of all the townships within Scottsdale Municipality Grocery stores opened their doors at 100 W Main Street for business purposes only after years of planning by then Mayor Mackenzie Burtchwick himself

As a result, many manufacturers began developing safer designs which incorporated automatic locking systems and other security features in order to make these safes harder for thieves to steal or damage. Unfortunately, during the war many people died due to shooting accidents involving firearms belonging to participants in military units. As a result, gun safes again regained popularity after the war ended – but only after new regulations were put into place limiting how much firepower individuals could own at any given time (and requiring registration of those owning such weapons).
