In El Mirage, Arizona, there is a history of firearm wearing that began in the early 1800s. The area was then known as the Gila River Country and many ranchers hunted and gathered food here. One of the first people to wear firearms in this area was David Brewer, who settled in El Mirage in 1876. He wore pistols at all times because they were easy to carry and didn’t require reloading. In later years, other residents of El Mirage started to weaponize their own homes and businesses with shotguns and handguns for self-defense purposes. As the decades passed, more people moved into this small town, starting to dress like cowboys or outlaws to blend in with their surroundings. Firearms became more common here due to hunting opportunities as well as fear of crime in these remote hillsides. In 1964, an ATF agent named Clint Hill visited El Mirage while on his way to another location in Pima County where he was investigating murders committed with firearms. While observing the community’s gun culture from his car window, Hill noticed some particularly interesting items being worn by local citizens such as cowboy hats and guns strapped around their waists. This type of clothing was unusual at the time but likely originated from out West where it was seen as part of a defiant attitude against government tyranny. hill decided then and there that this region deserved its own special attention from ATF agents on account of its unique firearms history! El Mirage is a small town in Coconino County, Arizona, United States. The population was 359 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Phoenix metropolitan area. The community was founded in 1912 by Warren W. Smith and his family as a watering hole for their livestock on the edge of the Apache Reservation. In 1925, El Mirage became an incorporated village with a post office and school. The name changed to its current form in 1951 when it was added to Coconino County as part of the new Phoenix metropolitan area. The economy of El Mirage has been based mostly on agriculture since it was first settled, but over time industrial production has increased as well. Today, most jobs in El Mirage are related to service industries such as restaurant work or truckdriving; however, there are also some manufacturing businesses and two hospitals located within walking distance of the town center. In addition to its retail stores and restaurants, El Mirage also contains several museums including one devoted to Native American history and culture called "Museum at Mesa". There is also a golf course located in town which hosts some events each year like the Arizona Open Golf Championship & PGA Championship may be played there as well

El Mirage is a small town in Mohave County, Arizona, United States. The population was 2,642 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Phoenix metropolitan area and was named after El Mirage Park, which is located in nearby Glendale. The first people to live in what is now El Mirage were Pima Indians who hunted and gathered game near the Ohatchee River. They also built their homes on high ground overlooking the river. In 1868, John Wesley Powell passed through this area on his way to explore the Grand Canyon and named it "El Mirage" for the resulting mirage he saw while travelling downriver. In 1912, real estate developers Harry Chandler and Wrey Chaney bought land east of Phoenix from the Pima Indians for $1 million dollars. They founded Chandler-Roper Homes development which soon became one of Phoenix's most popular neighborhoods with its large homes and well-maintained gardens. Developers added more houses over time as demand grew for space in this booming city. By 1936, there were over 1,500 housing units in El Mirage alone! Businesses such as banks, grocery stores and other businesses flourished due to easy access to Interstate 10 and good schools that served both local children and commuters into downtown Phoenix daily. It wasn't until 1977 that a major fire destroyed much of Chandler-Roper Homes development including many of its iconic structures like the grandstands that overlooked Euclid Avenue (now McDowell Road). However, new construction quickly resumed thanks to generous donations from residents who rebuilt much of what had been lost or damaged in flames including a new library/theatre complex opened in 1980 adjacent to McDonough High School now home to Grand View Middle School
The El Mirage Mining District was a mining district in the Apache land grant area of Arizona. The district was located in southern Apache County, east of the Gila River and south of Phoenix. The first gold discovery in the Apache land grant area occurred on December 18, 1859 when prospectors discovered gold in an outcrop about three miles northeast of present-day El Mirage. The next year, miners discovered more gold near present-day Paulden. In 1861, miner John Niven discovered copper at Red Rock Creek within the El Mirage Mine District. In 1863, prospector Augustus Weiser found silver at Silver Butte within the district. By 1865, the mines had become too rich for their owners to operate profitably and were abandoned. In 1868, prospectors Jameson and Wills discovered silver at Green Mesa in what is now part of Scottsdale Township. By 1870 only two small amounts of silver remained recoverable from these mines; however they remain among Arizona's most significant mineral discoveries.
