This corridor led to both economic opportunities for local businesses as well as increasing numbers people coming into contact with each other; this is especially true given that Prescott was only about 30 miles away fromDouglas while Mesa Tabloid served as another major artery connecting downtownPhoenix with rural areas around Tempe".
