The date palm (Datura stramonium) is an evergreen palm that typically grows to 12 to 24 feet tall and 8 to 12 inches wide with leathery leaves that measure 1/8 inch long by ¼ inch wide These palms have giant dates weighing up to 50 pounds each that hang from tough branches near the ground during winter; they don't flower until late summer so you won't see them until later in your season! The date palm's favorite food source is Dates, however it will also eat other hard fruits such as plums or figs if there's enough space!

Cottonwood is a town in Pima County, Arizona, United States. The population was 931 at the 2010 census. Cottonwood is part of the Tucson metropolitan area. The town was founded by Mormon pioneers in 1875 as Fort Mohave on the edge of what is now Cottonwood Canyon. In 1876, it became known as Cottonwood after a cotton tree located near the original fording point for the Gila River. It had an estimated population of 350 in 1880 but only 101 residents were recorded in 1890 because of mining and other economic activities that affected nearby towns. The population rebounded to 1,500 by 1920 but then declined to 705 by 1930 due to relocations of miners and farmers to other parts of Arizona and Mexico. A post office was established at Cottonwood in 1907 and remained open until it was discontinued in 1951. The first store opened at Cottonwood Canyon on October 6, 1875, operated by Wm Hurlbut & Brothers under the name "Fort Mohave". cattle drives took place through this canyon every week during gold rush days; goods bought at Fort Mohave were trucked back upriver for sale or trade at Gallup or Phoenixville stations before being delivered to settlers living near the creekmouth upstream from FortMohave. By 1880, wagon trails crossed the present-day Gila River just south of where it forks nearpresent-day Cottonwood Canyon; this route facilitated shipment of goods downriver from Apache Junction prior to arrival at settlements downstream including Estes Park on July 14, 1881 when nine miles (14 km) long ditches completed across Salt Creek formed what today is Fourth Street Bridge over Gila River with current Fourth Avenue running parallel below 4th Street between old Utah State Road crossing atop high hill east (now east side streets) west (west side streets), First Avenue north (north side streets), Third Street east (east side streets), Second Avenue south (south side streets). Military occupation began March 8–13, 1912 when General Douglas MacArthur ordered all Mexican nationals within 10 miles [16 km]of Tucson must leave without allowing them any chance for protection or ransom—a forcible expulsion called "Operation Gatekeeper." One hundred men served garrison duty around downtown Tucson while soldiers conducted search warrants throughout town; military supplies such as food and clothing were cached outside some stores inside buildings during these interim weeks while citizens cleaned up abandoned businesses and collected hardware items necessary for refurbishing fortifications surrounding city limits preparatory to reoccupation should hostilities resume again soon thereafter[1]. After approximately two months' notice period absentee landlord John Matson failed to return properties proceeds from lease renewal plus rent amounting $3/month late Payment Judgment rendered against him Oct 31 st 1911 citing no legal cause withholds rent amounting $27/month seized equipment belonging thereto october 3rd 1911 also lien status remains unchanged since february 2nd 1912 Old Tanner's Hardware Store building still standing although roof has collapsed resulting loss total value damage assessed against it stands vacant today five story high red sandstone structure built about 1870 school building which burned down December 15th 1909 replacement courthouse moved into new location northeast corner Fifth Ave & South Eastern Alameda street Mrs A C Harkins lived in old courthouse until January 1912 when she moved into new home opposite Third Street Jail building Mrs Al Turk who also resided there said house also caught fire December 15th 1909moving out so did most folks except miss Granny Harkins who stayed put Feb 12 th 1912 Today's intersection Santa Fe Trail & Fourth Ave
Cottonwood was founded in 1865 by a group of Mormons who were coming west to escape religious persecution. Cottonwood is located on the banks of the Gila River, about halfway between Phoenix and Tucson. Prescott, who had served as U.S. Army governor of Arizona during the American Civil War.
