The Coolidge Rifle and Pistol Club was founded in 1912. The club enjoyed a long and respected history in the community, thanks to its members’ dedication to firearm safety and shooting sports. In 2013, the club celebrated its centennial anniversary with a series of events including a rifle shoot, pistol competition, and dinner at the Arizona State Fairgrounds. Many of the old-time members who graced the organization over those years are still around today, enjoying their hobbies and getting back into shooting sports. One of the most famous shooters in Coolidge’s past was Floyd Brownell. Brownell is best known for his accomplishments as an American Champion Shooter (ACSH), winning three titles at both world championships (1948 & 1951) as well as two national championships (1959 & 1960). Brownell also served as president of NRA Eastern Arizona Section from 1953-1959. Today, many residents of Coolidge remember him fondly for his contributions to gun safety and Recreational Shooting in our community.

Thepress continued publication until 1986 when it merged with "Arizona Daily Star" to form The Arizona Newspapers Company . In 1930 Harry Daugherty opened his popular Daugherty's Department Store which still stands today as one of Mohave County's most iconic buildings . On July 15th 1928 President Franklin D Roosevelt visitedCoolidge along with other towns across Arizona during his National Governors Association Visit .
