The shop quickly became known for its high-quality handguns made exclusively for law enforcement use – handguns like those used by Pancho Villa and Lucky Luciano – as well as its famous holsters: tan belt holsters for service revolvers and white belt holsters for long arms such as shotguns and rifles. In 1948, American Holsters merged with two other companies: Colt Firearms Company and Smith & Wesson Firearms Company to form American Holster Corporation (AHC). AHC manufactured a wide variety of firearms including pistols, revolvers, shotguns, rifles and armored carriers; it also developed innovative holster designs that remain popular today among police officers around the world! In 1976 AHC merged with British Shooting Industries Ltd., making it one of the largest handgun manufacturers in Europe!
