Health-care services are dominated by managed care organizations such as Anthem Blue Cross/Blue Shield (the largest employer) and Kaiser Permanente; while manufactured products are predominant among those associated with semiconductor Manufacturing Company (SMC) which manufactures integrated circuits for computer systems giant IBM. Chino Valley is a small town in Pima County, Arizona, United States. The population was 1,879 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Tucson- Mesa- Chino Valley Metropolitan Statistical Area. The area now known as Chino Valley was first populated by the Apache people and other Native Americans in the late 1800s. In 1903,zoners Poston and Sprague donated land to build a school. The school opened in 1905 and remained open until 1952 when it was closed due to budget cuts by the county government. The townsite that exists today was platted in 1912 by John Fenton and others who were looking for a place to raise crops near their home on Hidalgo Ranch north of Tucson. When they found no takers for their offer, they abandoned it and started over with what is now Chino Valley. A post office called "Chinoville" was established at this site in 1912, but it served only local residents; no mail went out to the wider community. In 1916, service began again when the railroad arrived from Phoenix through Chinoville Station on its way to Tempe via Phoenix & Tucson. This brought new life to the town as businesses opened up and people bought property here for themselves or their families. Railroad tracks still run through town today (along Via de la Cruz) making it one of most heavily traveled communities within Pima County - even more so since Amtrak added an station right next door in 2006! Chinoville continued to serve locals until 1951 when all mail stopped being sent here because of budget cuts by county government; however, some donations continued coming in during that time so there may have been another restaurant or store open before postal services stopped entirely! During World War II, Chinoville became an important refueling stop for American forces fighting overseas; not only did this help keep our soldiers fed while on deployment but also made sure supplies got into our cities back home! In fact, one pipeline supplying fuel directly from White Sands Missile Range crossed through Chinoville just west of town limits during WWII! Today you can still see remnants of old buildings including a locomotive shed located off US 89 just east of I-10 Exit 133 - perfect evidence that goods once transported through Chinoville actually did get delivered right where they were supposed to!

The name Chino comes from the Apache word "chin-a-wah," meaning "place where cotton grows." The first settlers in this area were Mormon missionaries who arrived in 1867 and began to plant cotton. In 1875, Chino Valley Post Office was established at what is now the corner of Hoover Street and Palo Alto Avenue. A new post office was built on May 3, 1909 at what is now Roosevelt Road and Nogales Boulevard. On November 15, 1911 the town of Chino was organized from a part of Pinal County that had previously been unincorporated. It became an incorporated municipality on February 11, 1912 with a population of 1,521 residents. According to the 2000 census, there are 2,854 people living in Chino Valley
