Chino Valley is located in the Apache Junction Micropolitan Statistical Area, which includes all of Pima County and all of Maricopa County. The town was established in 1887 as a mining camp on the Matecumbe River, about 12 miles east of present-day Chino Valley. The first post office was established in 1888, and the first store opened in 1889. In 1898, Chino Valley became a part of the newly created Arizona Territory. The first school was built in 1899, and the first white settler arrived in 1901. By 1907, Chino Valley had a population of 100 people. In 1912, Chino Valley became a part of the new Tucson Metropolitan Statistical Area; by 1920, it had reached its current size. In 1934, Chino Valley became an incorporated community under the name "Chino". It changed its name to "ChINOValley" on July 26th, 1935; by 1938 it had reached its current size with a population of 3200 people. On December 15th 1951 ( Feast day of Our Lady Of Guadalupe), ChINOValley celebrated its centennial with an event that included speeches from Mayor Donahue and Governor Beardsley .
Chino Valley, Arizona is a small town located in Pinal County, Arizona. The population was 2,611 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Phoenix metropolitan area. The first settlers in what is now Chino Valley were Mexican immigrants who arrived in 1881. They built a cabin on the banks of the Gila River and named their community Chino after California's Channel Islands. In 1912, a group of Englishmen including Wm. Halsey Copley came to Chino Valley and began purchasing land from the Mexicans for $1 an acre. By 1915, there were over 100 people living in Chino Valley. The first school opened in 1916 and enrollment increased to 120 students by 1922. The post office was established here in 1922 and remained open until it closed in 1957. In 1951, Chino Valley became one of six communities within Phoenix Township which formedPhoenix Municipal Services District #2 (PMSD #2). This gave rise to its current name - Phoenix Municipal Services District #3 - as all of these towns joined together under one roof to form one government entity responsible for all aspects of civic life within Phoenix Township including schools, fire protection, trash collection, water service and more. This government reorganization helped spur development here as many businesses moved into this new municipality including Home Depot (1985), Macy's (1984), Sears (1981), Ford Motor Company (1976) and Chrysler Corporation (1970). Today, much of what makes up Phoenix Municipal Services District #3 - such as its economy-driven planning system that sets ambitious goals for each community - comes from its partnership with other institutions such as Maricopa County Superior Court and DPS Security Guards programs that help keep our neighborhoods safe during中心 nighttime hours when crime rates are highest

The area now known as Chino Valley was first populated by Ancestral Puebloans who built villages on mesa tops near present-day Chino Hills. In 1847, prospectors discovered copper deposits in what is now eastern Pinal County and began looking for new land to mine. One group of men, led by John Wesley Powell, drove downriver from Albuquerque to explore the valley in1849. They named it after Alessandro Chini (1788-1868), one of their number who had accompanied them on the journey. By 1860, many Italians had come to Chino Valley to work on ranches or farmssteads scattered throughout eastern Pinal County; some 7200 chinos lived here at the time according to county records Some chinos also worked as soldiers during World War II when there was heavy military presence in nearby Phoenix In 1912, about 3000 people lived in Chino Valley; by 1920 it had dwindled to 5000 residents because of industry bustles around Phoenix . However, during Prohibition years much of the population shifted southward into Tucson before returning back north again during prohibition’s end In 1951–1952 a group of Italian Americans formed a business association with the goal of establishing a cooperative grocery store in downtown Chino Valley called “Powell’s Grocery” which failed due to economic difficulties but provided some stability for local Italians after years of ethnic turmoil . After World War II ended most Italians left for good except for a few families who continued living until 1970 when all but two individuals left . Today descendants from several hundred early settlers live in ChINO VALLEY ISLAND which is located adjacent east bank stream flowing through village center
