Chino Valley, Arizona is the most recent addition to the ammunition history of Chino Valley, California. In 1899, a new rifle range was opened in Chino Valley and it became known as "The Rifle Range." The first rounds were fired at this range on November 12th, 1899. It operated until 1907 when it was leased to the Northern Arizona School District. The school district used it for target practice and also stored rounds there. In 1917, the school district sold the rifle range to J.M. Brown & Sons who continued to use it until 1951 when it was donated to the City of Chino Valley by Mr. William Wickenhunt Sr., president of Browning Arms Company. Since then, Chino Valley has been using J&B Firearms factory ammo for all their firearms including handguns and rifles!
Chino Valley is a small town in Pima County, Arizona. The population was 1,814 at the 2010 census. It is located on the east bank of the Chino River, about halfway between Phoenix and Tucson. The early settlers of this valley were among the first to arrive in what is now Arizona after crossing the Sierras in 1847. They were led by Juan Bautista de Anza and other Spanish explorers who had discovered this area during their exploration of North America. In 1852 Mexican settlers arrived here and began to build homes, Millenials secularized baptism practices in 1870 so that more Anglo-American Protestants could settle here, and mining operations began soon afterward. Chino Valley became a center for local politics because it housed both government services (such as a courts system) and business enterprises such as flour mills and cotton ginners. Today there are a few scattering businesses in Chino Valley but most residents remain farmers or ranchers with some industry outside of agriculture. Today's economy has diversified somewhat since those days; however, farming remains an important part of the community's culture and economy. There are also some sizable citrus groves located around Chino Valley which have given rise to several tourist attractions over the years including three waterfalls: Blue Mesa National Recreation Area), Geary Canyon Natural Bridge National Monument),andold Adobe Walls State Historical Park).

The town continued to grow slowly until World War II when it exploded into growth due to military construction projects around nearbyPhoenix Airport and other munitions plants. Afterward, Chino Valley gradually lost its status as a sleepy agricultural community to Phoenix's growing metropolis. However, efforts have been made over recent years to revive both local businesses and culture in Chino Valley by creating new museums, art galleries, restaurants and pubs/bars etc..
The Chino Valley area was first settled by the Pima people in the late 1800s. The valley is named for a canyon that runs through it. The area was also home to some of the earliest Los Angeles settlements. In 1853, James Fenton and his brother-in-law, George Armstrong Clark, founded what is now known as Chino Creek Station on the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railway. The Fentons were pioneers in the construction of railways in Arizona.
