By 1930s most manufacturing had moved away but some jobs still remained like that found at Peoria Tire & Rubber company which manufactured "Dome Tires" which are still being made today outside Phoenix Thanks to this company many people living near I-10 now know their first name! After World War II following areas within Phoenix annexed by Chandler they formed what is now Mesa County while most parts east of I-10 formed part OF Gilbert County; This left downtownactus mostly vacated leaving only a few blocks surrounding main streets completely empty . A major event happened here on September 15th 1990 when about 20%of all citizens living within 5 miles radius voted to annex more than 1/4 mile eastward making Mesa County outgrowing Douglas so much that they allowed this annexation however there still remains vacant lots currently homes to more people then ever before! As time went on things calmed down again although some parcels remain undeveloped even though annexation application has been filed numerous times due mostly because developers don't see any potential development there
