The history of firearms t-shirts in Camp Verde, Arizona can be traced back to the early 1900s. At that time, gun enthusiasts and militaries alike would often gather at various locations in the area for hunting and recreational activities. One such spot was a large ranch called Gila Bend which was situated near the town of Camp Verde. There, military personnel and their friends could enjoy shooting handguns and rifles while also wearing T-shirts with pictures or slogans related to firearm hobbyism. One of the earliest examples of T-shirts with firearm illustrations or slogans is from 1909. That year, an American soldier named George Hargrave designed a shirt that featured an image of a revolver on one side and a rifle on the other. This type of shirt became popular among civilian shooters as well as military personnel who enjoyed using firearms for recreation purposes. In 1923, another American soldier named Edward German created ashirt that depicted multiple pistols stacked one atop the other like stacks of cashbags. This type of shirt quickly became popular among civilians who were interested in learning about firearms. In 1932, Camp Verde resident Don Beebey began selling his own line of T-shirts featuring artwork or slogans related to firearm hobbies including target shooting, pistolsmithing, reloading, airgunning, shotgunning etc. The popularity of these shirts led to him opening his own shop called “Beebey’s Gun Emporium” which still exists today within the town limits of Camp Verde. From here, Don began producing high quality T-shirts that would become iconic among those passionate about Firearms hobbyism across America. Camp Verde, Arizona was a government-sponsored military training center during World War I. It is now a park that offers day and overnight opportunities for visitors to experience its history, natural beauty, and recreational opportunities. The camp was located in southeastern Arizona on the Pinal County line about 25 miles south of Phoenix. The first organized military training camp in the area was established at Fort Sill in 1875 by General George Crook. The post served as a headquarters for the Apache and Navajo Wars against Native American tribes. After the wars ended, Fort Sill became an artillery depot and command post during Reconstruction. In 1887, Camp Verde was founded as a Military Training Station with 1,200 soldiers under the command of Colonel John Teller. In World War I, Camp Verde served as an Army Air Service airfield from 1915 to 1917. From 1918 until 1919 it functioned as an Army Reserve Base Camp for officers and enlisted men of both services who were not mobilized or called up for service because of war-time restrictions on civilian life in Arizona (the so-called “1918 mobilization law”). After World War I ended, Camp Verde reverted back to Government Use until 1922 when it was turned over to Pinal County for development into what is today known as Camp Verde Park. Only after years of planning did construction begin on what would become one of Major League Baseball's most popular tourist destinations—Camp Verde Stadium onCVGland Boulevard adjacent to CVG Lake near where CVG golf courses are located today! Unlike other stadiums built primarily around professional baseball teams (e.g., Yankee Stadium), Camp Verde Stadium underwent architectural enhancements which included new playing fields (in addition to their original grandstands) which made it one of the most popular venues in all OFLAY territory! Today, Hotel Indigo sits atop one halfofa former football field while portions of stadium remain open year-round while permanent exhibit areas focus on various aspects of Cavalry Sergeant John Fetterman's role leading cavalry units in America’s largest peacetime exercise ever - Custer’s " buttons 'n' badges "
The Camp Verde Indian Reservation was established in 1916. The reservation is located in the southeastern corner of Arizona. It covers 1,500 square miles and has a population of over 5,000 people.
