After World War II, many of the older guns went out of fashion, but new rifles began becoming popular again so cowboy hats came back into fashion. In 1899, the club erected a building on the property for storage and meetings. In 1912, the Club formed a rifle team which competed against other clubs in Arizona. In 1915, Camp Verde Rifle and Pistol Club became part of the American Legion Troop #2191 post in Phoenix County. American Legion Troop #2191 served as sponsor of Camp Verde Rifle and Pistol Club until their disbandment in 1949. Camp Verde Rifle & Pistol Club was re-established in 1957 as a non-profit organization with support from United States Army Military District 10 at Fort Huachuca Cold Springs. The club continues to operate today as a member-based organization providing shooting opportunities for members of all ages across Tucson County including portions of Barstow, Apache Junction, Sahuarita, Cave Creek and Flagstaff
Camp Verde is a summer camp located in the Phoenix metropolitan area. The camp was founded in 1951, and offers a variety of programs for children ages 6-18. Campers have the opportunity to participate in activities such as swimming, fishing, hiking, tennis, basketball, and volleyball. There are also numerous opportunities for student-athletes to train with professional athletes during the off-season.

In 1881, Cornelius Vanderbilt Whitney developed the first practical firearm safety device, the Whitney Gun Holder. The gun holder consisted of a metal frame with a padded strap that was worn around the neck. It prevented firearms from being fired inadvertently by holding them against the wearer's head. This invention became known as the Whitney Gun Holder and Hat.
Camp Verde, Arizona is a small town located in Pinal County, Arizona. The community was founded in 1907 by cattlemen who named it after the Mexican Verde National Forest. The first post office was established in 1909 and the first store opened in 1912. In 1938, the United States Post Office moved from Fort Apache to Camp Verde and the population grew rapidly. By 1957, Camp Verde had become a census-designated place (CDP). In 1992, Camp Verde became an unincorporated community within Pinal County. The history of Camp Verde can be traced back to 1907 when cattlemen discovered rich coal deposits near present-day Camp Verde. They named their new settlement after the MexicanVerde NationalForest and started building homes and businesses there. The initial population of campers numbered only 10 people but quickly grew as they began to exploit the resources around them. By 1938, CampVerde had reached its peak with over 100 residents. However, during World War II,CampVerdereceiveda massive influx of soldiers because of the war effort. As a result of this growth, school enrollment plummeted and many local citizens left for military service or other opportunities abroad. Consequently, by 1957, only 28 people remained in camp as compared to its original 300+ inhabitants; however, due to its location within Pinal County and booming economyamp; population growth into the late 1990s & 2000s.,CampVerde has regained much of its former population size& infrastructure& services& amenities including retail center,. Today’s residents Of Camp Verde are descendantsof those that settled there over 100 years ago& have continued to enjoy all that their predecessors did for their community & country!
Camp Verde was founded in 1867 as a military outpost on the San Pedro River southwest of Phoenix. The fortification and post were renamed Fort McDowell in 1872, after General John A. McDowell, who had played a role in Arizona's successful campaign to gain statehood. After Mexican-American War victory over Mexico, the United States acquired land east of the Yuma River, including what is now Camp Verde. The post was discontinued in 1912 and its buildings abandoned. In 1916, Phoenix Mayor James M. Hahn ordered the erection of a memorial to soldiers from World War I at Camp Verde. Construction began in 1917 and finished six years later. The Stone Wall Memorial Monument is one of several such monuments located throughout Phoenix honoring those who served during World War I.
