Bullhead City, Arizona is a city in Pima County, Arizona. The population was 2,869 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Tucson Metropolitan Statistical Area. The name "Bullhead" comes from the word "bully" which is Navajo for "place where game can be hunted." The city was founded in 1903 by John Wesley Powell and named after Bullhead Lake, about 20 miles to the south-west of town. In 1911 Bullhead City became an incorporated municipality and in 1912 it annexed the towns of Sahuarita and Catalina. In 1935 Bullhead City was separated from Pima County and incorporation as a full-time municipality within its own government. In 1990, Bullhead City proper was included within Tucson when the city limits were revised following annexation of adjacent villages by Tucson. The economy of Bullhead City revolves around mining, manufacturing, agriculture and tourism. Mining includes coal mining; gold mining; uraniummining; silver mining; methamphetamine production; lumber mills; cattle pastures; agricultural land used for growing crops such as corn, potatoes or beans; hunting or fishing opportunities on various rivers near town including bullheads Unlimited Creek National Grassland Preserve There are two types of schools within Bullhead City: public schools operated by Pima County Schools District #2 (PUSD) and private schools operated by district families/churches/volunteers (CHSV). There are also three churches located within town: First Baptist Church (founded 1913), Second Baptist Church (founded 1907), and Christ United MethodistChurch (founded 1957). Each church provides education for students between grade school through high school along with offering activities like Bible Study Groupsand Youth Group meetings that focus on learning about Jesus Christ firsthand From 1998 until 2006 all public services purchased by Pima County were funded through bonds issued primarily to finance road projects authorized during that time period such as widening I-10 westward from Tucson to Nogales however starting July 1st 2006 countywide funding has shifted back to district appropriations with one exception - special needs programming will still continue to be funded through CHSV . District residents have voted overwhelmingly since 2002 to support additional spending on elementary/middle school construction related to current growth rates while remaining largely supportive of existing services

Bullhead City is a small city located in the Phoenix metropolitan area, about 30 miles east of downtown Phoenix. The population was estimated to be over 100,000 in 2000. Bullhead City was founded by prospectors who discovered rich silver and gold deposits on the Cottonwood Mesa area in 1864. The town grew rapidly from this discovery, with mines and mills opening up in the early 1870s. By 1907, Bullhead City had become an important transportation hub for Arizona because of its location at the head of the Gila River Valley. In 1929, Bullhead City became part of what would become Phoenix and annexed much of neighboring Maricopa County. However, due to local politics and economic decline, Bullhead City continued to Lose population until it peaked at around 150,000 in 1990 before starting to decline again during the late 1990s and 2000s as a result of immigration changes which caused many jobs to move out of Arizona into other states. Today, Bullhead City remains an important agricultural center as well as a bedroom community forPhoenix residents. The city has preserved many aspects of its historic architecture - such as its downtown district - while also working to make itself more environmentally friendly by installing green roofs and photovoltaic panels on buildings. Despite these efforts, however, bullheadedcity's overall trend seems to be towards declining populations and decreasing economic activity
