This illegal activity eventually led to Joe being indicted on one count of conspiracy to traffic firearms without a license and three counts of obstruction of justice; however, he ultimately pleaded guilty all charges and received three years probation instead of 5 years imprisonment as planned due to public sentiment against criminals who traffic firearms illegally! Buckeye is a small town in Arizona, located in thewestern Phoenix metropolitan area. As of the 2010 census, its population was 3,971. It is home to two universities: The University of Phoenix and Arizona State University. The name Buckeye comes from the Apache word "buca" which means "little stream." The first settler in what is now Buckeye was Hyrum Bartlett who arrived in 1851. He named his creek after himself, Buckeye Creek. A post office was established at Buckeye in 1872, and it remained open until 1959. Buckeye has a rich history that can be traced back to 1862 when John Wesley Powell spotted Mount Graham on July 8th while surveying for the United States Army Corps of Engineers. Powell named Mount Graham after General George Armstrong Custer who had been killed several days earlier at Battle of Little Bighorn near Prescott Valley on October 6th, 1876. The first school building in what is now Buckeye was erected on Main Street in 1865 by Wm Jenson anderson. In 1870, Elisha Sargent opened a store here which became known as the biggest store east of the Rockies until it closed its doors in 1958. In 1902, Fredrick Becker founded First National Bank with $5 worth of silver coins given to him by William Jennings Bryan during their presidential election campaign as part of an agreement between the two candidatesmiths that would later be called THE SILVER PLATE AGREEMENT or “The Becker Agreement” (See footnote #1 below). In 1916 Ezra Pound moved from Cleveland Ohio to Tucson AZ and started writing poetry here under various names including “Ezra Pound” then finally he settled down as “Buckeyespoet” After World War II ended there were large numbers of immigrants coming into Arizona looking for opportunity so much so that many businesses failed due to competition from Hispanic owned businesses.. Buckeye is a small town in the White Mountains of Arizona. The population was 4,711 at the 2000 census. It is part of the Phoenix–Mesa-Scottsdale Metropolitan Statistical Area. The Buckeye area was first settled by Arizonan Native Americans in the early 19th century. In 1867, David Dunlap and his brother James founded Buckeye Post Office on what is now First Street in Buckeye. The post office served as a trading center for farmers and ranchers in the nearby Goldwater Valley. In 1902, A.C. Smith opened a grocery store in Buckeye which soon became one of the most successful businesses in the community. For many years, it was also home to local radio station KPHO (AM) which helped make Buckeye an important cultural center for locals and tourists alike. One of the most significant moments in Buckeye's history came when its citizens voted to join forces with neighboring Mesa to form the city of Phoenix on January 1, 1912. The vote represented an overwhelming rejection of annexation by Tucson, which had become increasingly influential within Arizona politics during this time period. In 1915, Mayor Jules Egan organized a festival to celebrate America's centennial that attracted more than 100 thousand people from all over metropolitan Phoenix including many notable civic leaders such as Harry Sills and unveiling new public buildings including City Hall and State Capitol Building; these events are still celebrated annually today as Fourth of July Heritage Days! On July 14th 1948—the 20th anniversary of American independence—a group of about 50 patriotic citizens from around Arizona gathered at Main Street Parkette in downtown Buckeye to commemorate our state’s long struggle for self-government! This event has been known since then as Independence Day Celebration & Museum Event!
