Buckeye, Arizona is home to the world's oldest continuously operating ammunition store. The first Ammunition Store in Buckeye opened on January 1, 1881. In 1981, the store was bought by Golden Nugget and has been run by Golden Nugget since then. It is now one of the largest online retailers of firearms and ammunition in the United States. The Ammunition Store began as a donation from John Dicken who ran a grocery store in downtown Buckeye. Dicken had wanted to help support local rifle shooting matches and was so impressed with black powder rifles that he decided to give away his entire stock of ammo for free to any interested individuals. This initial donation helped start the modern Rifle Shooting Match (RSM) which still takes place annually in Buckeye! Today, we continue to be an important part of the community here in Buckeye by providing affordable ammunition, firearms sales and support services to our members across all ages and abilities. We thank everyone who has supported us over these years!

Buckeye, Arizona is a small town in Pinal County, Arizona. It is located on the east side of the Gila River and at an elevation of 4,721 feet (1,500 m). The population was 2,960 as of the 2010 census. The first settlement in Buckeye was made by David Whitney in 1868. He built a cabin on the bank of the Gila River. The original settlers were land grantees from Denver, Colorado who arrived in 1868 to purchase 640 acres (2 km²) of present-day Buckeye from David Whitney. The group known as the Whitney brothers founded Buckeye after they acquired title to Rancho Santa Fe de Tucson from José Hernandez in 1869. In 1870, John Parkinson and his family moved to Buckeye and became part of its early community. In 1888, Alesandro Zapata settled in Buckeye and began selling fruit trees formarketing which led to his later nickname "the orchardman." From 1901 until 1912 he chaired the Pinal County Agricultural Society which organized local fairs and festivals that attracted visitors from all over southern Arizona. In 1922 Jesse Owens won gold medals at both the Athens Olympics and Wembley Games; this event helped promote tourism throughout Arizona among people of all ages interested in physical activity beyond just playing games. After World War II many businesses closed due to depleted resources but new ones started up such as Deer Lodge Brewing Company which still operates today under different management than when it first opened its doors more than 60 years ago
Buckeye is an agricultural town in Pinal County, Arizona, United States. The population was 1,898 at the 2010 census. The name Buckeye comes from the Apache word "bukwai" which means "a place where wild grapes grow". A post office called Buckeye was established in 1887, and remained in operation until 1959. The community was named for a grove of trees located east of the town on State Route 93. The first doctor in Buckeye was Dr. John Hensley who practiced there from 1895 to 1897. He later moved to Phoenix but continued to practice there until his death in 1935. There have been many doctors practicing here over the years including Drs Franklin Herron, Harry Kapp and Vernon Rockwell among others.
