Roosevelt to help preserve open country for future generations as part of his New Deal policies known as Conservation through Education

Apache Junction experienced heavy growth following World War II when Phoenix's population exploded from just over 100,000 people in 1940 to more than 2 million by 1950. However, the city's notoriety faded afterPhoenix replaced Apache Junction as its primary downtown shopping district around 1960-1970s.
