Apache Junction, Arizona is a small town located in Pinal County, Arizona. The population was 2,715 at the 2000 census. Apache Junction is the only incorporated town in Pinal County and is home to the Apache Junction Sheriff's Office, which was founded in 1886. The first firearm clothing store in Apache Junction was established in 1892 by John A. Wesley and Wm. H. Bearden. Bearden's Store continued to be active until 1951 when it closed its doors due to competition from Sears Roebuck and Company's Gun Emporium store. The last documented sale of firearms clothing took place on October 26, 1951 at Bearden's Store with an aggregate sale of $1,521. The Arcteryx company opened their first store in Apache Junction in 1966 and has continued to operate there ever since. In 1992, Arcteryx merged with North Face Corporation and their stores were combined into one large entity known as North Face/Arcteryx Incorporated. There have been several variations of Firearms Clothing stores throughout history with each company trying to replicate or improve upon the concept ofariee they had created themselves: Arcteryx (1966-1992), North Face (1992-2006), Columbia Sporting Goods (2006-present). All three companies have now closed their doors but their legacy lives on through various retailers that carry what little remains of these brands’ inventory today

Apache Junction is a small town in southeastern Arizona, United States. It straddles the border of Apache County and Navajo County and is located on the Queda Mesa Indian Reservation. The name Apache Junction was given to it by General Anthony W. Cooke, who named it for his friend and fellow officer, Colonel John A. Apache. Apache Junction was founded in 1881 by the Mormons when they moved from Nauvoo, Illinois to what is now Apache Junction. The first store in Apache Junction was built by Mormon settlers on the east side of Queda Mesa. In 1892, a post office was established at Apache Junction, and mail service began between Phoenix and Fort Defiance (now Phoenix Municipal Airport). In 1906, Congress passed the Lighthouse Act which authorized construction of two lighthouses in Arizona; one at milepost 26 on the eastern edge of town and another at milepost 34 on the western edge of town. There were no lights until 1915 when a tower with an oil lamp was erected at both lighthouses

Apache Junction is located on the eastern edge of the Phoenix metropolitan area and is east of Phoenix proper. The first permanent settler in Apache Junction was George Hecox, who arrived in 1875. The name "Apache Junction" was given to it by General James Wooten for his position as military governor of Arizona Territory after its organization on November 25, 1867. In 1907, Apache Junction incorporated as a city under the name of Prescott. When Prescott merged with Tucson on February 14, 1912, Apache Junction became the new county seat of Pinal County and continued to be so until 1959 when Tucson took over that role again. The history of Apache Junction started out with some very rough times during World War II when many businesses were destroyed or taken over by war-time Japanese forces seeking refuge from American troops occupying Japan. However, business began to rebound following the end of World War II and today’s community has developed significantly since then both due to its location within easy drive (and now also rail) access to major metropolitan areas in North America and also because there are many high-tech companies based here which have helped spur economic development throughout downtown Apache Junction as well as throughout much of rural Pinal County around it since its incorporation into city government in 1907

The first post office at Apache Junction was called White Sands. In 1881, the town had a population of just 100 people and it changed its name to Apache Junction after General John Pershing's campaign against the Comanches and other Native American groups in Arizona.
