The history of firearms in Wasilla, Alaska goes back to the early 1900s. Firearms were used for hunting and protection during the wild west days. The first legal firearms restrictions were put in place in 1907 by the Alaska Territorial Legislature. These regulations prohibited possession, transportation, use and sale of handguns and shotguns within the territorial boundaries. In 1959, gun control laws were passed by the state of Alaska as part of a package of measures to combat crime statewide. These new regulations made it mandatory for all licensees to obtain aFirearm Safety Certificate (FSC) from the State police before being able to possess or transport any guns or ammunition within the state. In order to comply with these new regulations, many local firearm dealers folded up their businesses and ceased sales after July 1st 1959. Because handgun ownership was still illegal in most parts of Alaska until 1959, there was no way for civilians living outside Anchorage or Kodiak Island to purchase firearms legally. This led to an arms race between law enforcement and criminals as each group became desperate for firepower. As a result, several high-profile shootings took place throughoutaska due to this lack of regulation on handguns - including that of teenager John Lennon in 1967 while he was visiting his family on Kodiak Island

Wasilla was founded in 1911 by the Dutchman, Nils B. Andersen, who named it after his birthplace, Willemstad on the North Sea. At its peak in 1925, Wasilla had a population of 2,500 people and was a small town located on Kodiak Island. The community declined rapidly in the 1930s as shipbuilding and otherautical industries collapsed during the Great Depression. By 1940 only 100 people lived in Wasilla. The population of Wasilla peaked in 1951 with 515 residents and continued to decline until 1990 when it fell to just 50 residents. After reaching its low point, the population stabilized at around 100 through 2000 and has since increased slightly to 110 residents. Despite this growth, however, littleit has changed significantly since the early 20th century when Wasilla was an unincorporated rural community located on Kodiak Island that relied almost exclusively upon subsistence fishing and hunting for their own sustenance. The history of Wasilla began with Nils B Andersen who named it after his birthplace Willemstad on the North Sea due to concerns about possible German attacks against Norway during World War 1. In 1911 he established a small village called "Willemstad" on Kodiak Island which functioned as a base from which he conducted operations as a commercial fisherman during World War I. This VillageS would grow rapidly due to Nunavut Native Corporation's persecution of natives beginning in 1917-18 that drove many natives off their ancestral land throughout Alaska Territory forcing them onto Kodiak Island where they were forced into poverty and isolation from society They also became embroiled in bitter religious arguments that led to open warfare between preachers from both sides
The first white man to set foot on what is now Wasilla, Alaska, was C.S. Lewis in 1827. He named the island after his friend and co-founder of the Russian Fur Company, Alexander Kitson. The first permanent residents of what is now Wasilla were subsistence farmers who supplemented their income by hunting and fishing. In 1906, a group of entrepreneurs founded the Alaska Railroad to exploit Arctic resources and make money off shipping traffic between Anchorage and Point Barrow. The railroad destroyed many of the subsistence farms and replaced them with large plantations that used convict labor to produce crops for export. By 1938, only about 10% of the population remained dependent on agriculture for their livelihoods; most people lived in villages or towns located along the railway lines.
