However, the company managed to stay afloat and continue producing high-quality binocular products until 1945. After World War II, many people returned to Alaska and started usingbinoculars for their everyday tasks again. However, production ofbinoculars resumed only after 1972 when new technologies made it possible to produce better-quality products without sacrificing durability or performance

There was no land on Island of Wasilla at that time so all activity took place off shore. By 1829, Russians had also built a small fort on Islayon Island which served as a naval base for their exploration voyages into North America. In 1834-35 Captain John Franklin sighted an uninhabited island in latitude 71°N and longitude 135°W while sailing his ships through the Beaufort Sea on his way from Philadelphia to Moscow. He named this new discovery Cape Columbia after Sir James Cook's cape in New Zealand

Wasilla, Alaska is a town located on the Kenai Peninsula in the U.S. state of Alaska. The population was 1,824 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Anchorage Metropolitan Statistical Area and is also included in the Anchorage-Fairbanks-Kenai Combined Statistical Area. The first inhabitants of what is now Wasilla were Eskimos who lived near Kotzebue Bay when it was still an ice sheet during the last glacial period. They would go out into the bay to hunt seals, otters, and other animals that would live there on land or in water. In 1884, Russian Fur trader Ignatyevich Potemkin trading with Sitka arrived at Kotzebue Bay and found white people living thereabouts as well as Inuit (Eskimo) people who had been living here since before evendkirch Toqtaq (now Nome) became their capital around 1607 AD. Russian traders began hunting seal and otter from here beginning in 1884 until 1892 when they stopped because of prohibitive prices set by American fur traders at $3 per pound for moose skin and $10 per pound for caribou hide which had become very rare due to overhunting by Europeans during this time frame! During World War II, Wasilla was bombed by Japanese forces several times resulting in damage to most buildings within town limits however none were destroyed! On July 15th 1941 Japanese Imperial Navy air raid against city of Kodiak resulted in 8 civilian deaths including 3 women and 2 children!
On July 17, 1959, the Alaska Highway was opened to traffic. The first stop for motorists was at Wasilla, then on to Anchorage.
