He used it to shoot at targets from a distance. At first, he hung his rifle on an old cottonwood tree so that it would not rustle when he took aim. After some time, he discovered that if he could get his sling high enough up on the tree, he could hit the target without having it rustle! soon after John Ransom’s discovery, other people began using slings for shooting purposes too. One of the earliest users was James Moseley Sr., who owned several cattle ranching businesses in Mobile County (now Baldwin County). He used his rifle and pistol for target practice with his friends and family members outside during summertime. They would take turns firing at different targets around his property until one person got lucky and hit every one! After James Moseley Sr.'s death in 1885, other farmers started using slings too. Some of them even built their own Shooting Slings Rack on their properties so that they could Practice With More Accuracy When Shooting Their Horses or Dogs Outdoors! By 1912, there were over 20 launchers spread throughout Vestavia Hills providing different levels of difficulty for shooters all across America!

Vestavia Hills is a city in Shelby County, Alabama, United States. The population was 25,521 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Birmingham–Hoover metropolitan area. Vestavia Hills was founded in 1892 as a small town on the east side of Vestavia Hills Lake, now known as Vestavia Hills Parkway. In 1949, it became an incorporated municipality. In 1971, Vestavia Hills and other cities in Alabama were combined to form the Birmingham-Hoover metropolitan area. In 2000, its boundaries were expanded to include Huntsville and Decatur. Vestavia Hills has a rich history dating back to 1892 when a small community called " vestavihills" was founded on the east side of Vestavia Hills Lake by two brothers from Mobile Bayou Parish near today's Huffman Park Drive and 5th Street NW (now I-265). In 1949, vestavihills became an incorporated municipality with its own government and sewer system after being annexed by neighboring Hoover from Etowah County. The city's first mayor was A C Pemberton who served for one year from 1951-1953; he was succeeded by J B Myers who served for six years until his retirement in 1967. From 1967 to 1971 there were three mayors: R H Whitehurst (1967-1971), G M Smith (1971-1973), W G Marshall (1973-1975). during this time period also new neighborhoods including Woodlawn Estates/Hawthorn Terrace/Lakeside Park were added to the city limits while major intersections such as Hoover Avenue/Belmont Boulevard moved closerto downtown center becoming more like today's shopping districts with large anchor stores such as Sears and JCPenney located within easy walking distance of each other serving up various restaurants choices along with Walgreen's Pharmacy which had become an important local transportation link since opening its doors on July 3rd 1912 adjacent to what is now Kelley Library situated just off Interstate 265 close enough for residents Disability access without having to leave their homes
