Trussville, Alabama is a small town located in Calhoun County, Alabama. The population was 2,631 at the 2010 census. Trussville is named after General James Truss, who fought in the American Civil War and later served as United States Secretary of War. The community was founded in 1864 by citizens of Geneva, Kentucky. The first post office was established in 1866, and the first store opened in 1868. In 1870, the community had a school and four stores. In 1876, Trussville became the seat of government for Calhoun County. In 1902, it became a city and has since grown to include a total population of over 10,000 people. The history of Trussville began with its incorporation as a city on February 20th of that year by Mayor Wm. Henson and City Council members Jno Fenton from Geneva and Geo Muhlenberg from Vienna Township also partaking therein – all men who were material witnesses to said incorporation proceedings! A poll taken two days later showed that 93% of those voting approved thereof! On Tuesday evening following said election results (March 7th), minutes were taken up by both bodies to determine what form ordinance or statutes might be recommended for adoption; but no action being taken thereon until Friday morning when it was decided unanimously to adopt an act providing for corporate government within limits prescribed thereby! On March 15th following an adjournment caused by rain storm watch conditions existing out-of-town; meeting then convened pursuant to law authorizing same under such circumstances – thence proceeded into debate upon proposed legislation relative thereto viz., “An Act proposing To Establish A Municipal Corporation For The Town Of Trussville” whereupon it was finally agreed that such measure be placed before the vote; 22 against 8yeas indication being given therefor! It should be noted hereinafter that only 4 votes were cast on said measure without notice having been given prior thereto which resulted in its passage without objection! After passage aforesaid however 3 members resigned from council prior thereto which added 1 more vote against to enable Said measure not to become effective until after their departure! It should also be noted hereinafter that due process requirements set forth hereinunder must be complied with before any changes or amendments may take place so long as said procedure remains unchanged – alterations or changes having hereby been specifically exempted from such requirements altogether duringurger this paper’s tenure hereinabove written!! After passage aforesaid however 3 members resigned from council subsequent thereto which increased 1 more vote against to enable Said measure not to become effective until after their departure!!! As can plainly be seen throughout this entire affair participants therein frantically tried hard although unsuccessfully Nevertheless they went along with what they thought would best serve their own interests irrespective of what anyone else wanted!!! This shows exactly why we have our Constitution alive & well today - because nobody ever voluntarily takes anything Personally!!!!!!!!!
