Scope mounts have been around for a long time in Troy, Alabama. A few years ago, I had the opportunity to go online and research scope mounts for my rifle. I found that there was a lot of history behind these mounts. They originated in 1875 when Mr. George Stephenson designed and built the first locomotive with a telescoping telescope system on his locomotive, The Manchester, England. In 1912, American Rifleman magazine featured an article about scope mount development by John Winchester. At that time, Scope Mounts were being developed as an emergency fire arm device for law enforcement officers who needed to carry their rifles with them during searches and seizures. In 1969, Mr. Rufus Hunt became the President of Waco Outfitters in Troy and he started developing new scopes into what we now know as "troycoil" style scopes. These days, most people think of scope mounts when they think of antique firearms or gunsmithing supplies but back then it was another different story! Mr Hunt's work led to the development of today's Weaver optics designs which use scope cups welded onto the top rail of your rifle barrel (or other mounting surface). Weaver-Style Rails have four posts that you attach your optic to directly with bolts or washers running along both sides of the rail (except for carbine length rifles which use an exposed 1913 type mount). The downside is that these scopes often require some special tools (like a weaver bar) to attach/detach from the rail during use; however this method is more versatile than using a standard bolt connection system like Weaver-Style Rails with picatinny mount devices such as telescopes or ranges Troy Takedowns make it possible to remove your optic without having to take apart your rifle. M4 Style Rails usually just have one post at either end - this means you can't attach/attach optics using standard bolt connections

It is named after General Troy who served in the American Civil War and later became governor of Alabama. The town was founded in 1881 by John C. Frantz and his wife Mary J. Frantz. In 1924, Drury Brothers grocery chain opened its first store in Troy with a total of 16 stores across Alabama and Tennessee. It would remain a major player in the local community until 2006 when it shut down its operations due to economic decline statewide. In 2008, Athens-based First National Bank announced plans to purchase all assets & liabilities of Drury Brothers including 130 buildings & businesses throughoutAlabama totaling over 4 million square feet & 2 million customer accounts! This move would result in an indirect contraction of local job availability as well as severance hearings for many county employees impacted by the closure of the chain’s stores! Today resident are mostly retirees or those who have relocated here permanently from other rural areas within southeastern United States during recent decades due to numerous industry changes such as globalization that has led to increased competition outside traditional agricultural production base; nevertheless there is still efforts made by residents/workers/citizens working together towards common goals like preserving our cultural heritage while providing opportunities for personal development through entrepreneurship initiatives etc., making life more affordable even under difficult circumstances
